So we went down the local pub for a meal for the Missus birthday this evening, me, her and our young son and daughter who is 4. We were seated right next to a big table full of only kids, probably about 8-12 years old but i'm terrible estimating age. The grown ups were on another table quite far from us, lot's of them. My kids had interacted with them briefly playing out the front and one of the girls told my daughter about the drawing stuff on the other side of the menu, overall they seemed nice.

Our table was really close to the kids table and there was a little boy probably about 10 sat next to her (who i now know goes to the same school as my kids) . My daughter kept coming close to me and getting in my space and i thought she was just being annoying, as kids are, so i kept shifting her back to the centre of her chair, didn't think much of it. Anyway, as we're eating our food i suddenly noticed this kid is proper staring at my daughter, so i look over at him and he starts staring at me, looking back at the other kids he was with, and they are all kind of staring at each other and at me, this goes on for about 20 seconds... It felt really odd and uncomfortable but i thought he must want to ask my daughter something so i say "Alright?" and he just responds with "alright". Felt really strange, the way they were all staring, looking at each other etc. Went back to my meal and noticed out the corner of my eye the boy looking over a few times. Daughter was being very quiet and eventually went over and sat the other end with the missus and just cuddled into her.

I felt something wasn't right so took her outside and asked if anything happened. She just said no and she wanted to go home. I asked if the boy was nice and she shook her head no. I asked if he touched her and she said no.

Go back in, start leaving and the kids staring again. I say "why are you staring at us?" he says "huh" i say it again, he goes "because i think you're cool". I say "you're taking the mic" as that was obviously not the reason, he just looked at me weird. We leave and when we're outside our daughter starts saying he touched her and hurt her. I go in and explain to the server and he says he'll tell the owner and they will check CCTV. When we get home my daughter says he grabbed her chest, breast area. But after more questioning she get's upset and says she was joking... we try and explain that it's important she is honest and she says that he did grab her... Owner rang us and took it pretty seriously and said he will check the CCTV in the morning.

I'm typing this here mostly because it's really weirded me out and kinda wanna get it off my chest. Both me and the missus found the whole thing very creepy / weird, the way they all stared was just so... unnerving and obviously hearing someone touched / hurt your daughter, even if it's another kid, makes you really ****ing angry. The fact something could happen right next to me to my baby without me even noticing is really fuking with me as well.

Will see what happens in the morning when the owner checks the CCTV. What's the miscs thoughts on this?

TLDR:

- Went to pub, realise kids on table next to us creepily staring at me and my daughter
- Leave pub, daughter says kid (around 10) touched her chest and hurt her
- Owner will Check CCTV
- Creeped the fuk out and angry / very concerned

Weird, but you can't really do anything when it's kids that young. Sounds like a bad parenting situation.

In reality, make sure to tell your daughter that he's an ******* but it's something you just gotta forget about and move past. Tell her that he will probably be eating gruel in prison someday, and she can go laugh at him when that happens.

Hmmm maybe. Legal age of criminal responsibility is 10 here in the U.K though. If he did hurt my daughter, i can't simply just let it slide, as i say he goes to the same school as her, albeit in different years.It would be easier to forget if i knew she'd never see him again, the worrying thing is she will. I don't know how much contact she has at school with the older kids but if something did happen i feel i should at least inform the school.We both considered this. The Pub owner said if he did touch her he will contact the police. If the kid(s) are being abused, ignoring it would be a pretty chitty thing to do imo. How long until he does something much worse to a kid alone at school?
