do you honestly think Tucker was given free reign to say whatever he wanted on his show?
there is always someone up on high who needs to approve chit daily.
Murdoch knew exactly what Tucker was saying about jan 6th and dominion and didn't give the order to stop.

this is all theater.

my best guess is Murdoch worked out some settlement deal with dominion and Carlson to just make it all go away.

Tucker did not get fired because of the Dominion stuff. Hannity is still there and he went harder than Tucker. Tucker actually pushed back on Sydney Powell when he had her on. He got fired because of advertisers wanting him out and his views on immigration and military intervention being contrary to Fox News orthodoxy.

Agree, especially with the Jan 6 issue. If Murdoch has/had a problem with this it's very late to bring it up.

Did he say anything wrong? Tucker is based for some issues, but he knowingly spread false information about the election. There's no getting around that. We have his texts.

Facts that don't align with your personal beliefs are still facts. Do you expect Tucker to side with someone like Vindman just because it hurts Trump? And Tucker had little to do with Dominions suit. If I recall, he was cited once out of more than 30 examples.

Tucker leaving is related to one of twho things. Higher ups are cracking down on certain reporting and Tucker refuses to play ball, or the less likley, he was caught up in the reports of a toxic work environment that is the subject of a current lawsuit against Fox. Apparently some low level employees have been accused of regularly using the word '****' to refer to women. Although that is unproven at this point.

And finally, Tucker could start a subscription bassed podcast and make more than Fox was paying him. He's better postioned for it than people like Glenn Beck or Steven Crowder were. Tucker could guve Joe Rogan a run for his money.

People said the same about Trump's fake twitter app. Not that he couldn't go out on his own and maintain something, but Tucker's shtick has always relied on being part of the machine. Other than his diehard flock there's not going to be any excitement for new customers to pay to hear him say the same stuff he's already said for free for years.

Tucker was the highest rated cable show with....(D) & (I) voters. Not to mention more influential people in politics/business tuned into him nightly than any other show.

Remind them of that fact every time the propaganda machine tries to label his audience right wing lunatics.

Things going on like knowingly spreading lies about the election? Those kinds of things? Things that represent a concerted effort to destroy democracy?

How was Tucker questioning the election an example of destroying Democracy?

I could have misread it but I didn't see anyone saying...let's spread lies. It looked like Carlson was looking for clarification about the voting machines.

I read the article fast I didn't see actual plotting.

Voter fraud isn't a crazy idea as it does happen and Democrats do see like a group of people who would rig an election.

In his texts, he revealed he knew it was all bs, but still spread it anyway. Many others at Fox felt similarly, privately dissenting, but publicly going along with the lie. Given Fox's importance within the GOP and its role as the premier media source for the GOP in this country, and given that the lie came straight from the GOP leader's mouth, that is a textbook example of a group willing to set aside the result of an election. That's the definition of destroying democracy.

This goes beyond mere hyperbolic challenging of results and then moving on. To this day, Trump insists he won. He continues to make claims that machines were rigged and that our process has no integrity. Taken to its logical conclusion, he argues our democracy is a farce. The idea is your vote doesn't matter and only violence can restore and "save" the country. And Tucker and friends knowingly helped spread this even when they knew it was bullchit and privately held grave concerns over what they were doing.

How was questioning the election and speculating about election integrity actually destroying Democracy?

Was Tucker actually pushing that peoples' votes don't matter and that violence is the only answer?

You are incorrect.

There's people who got away with crimes, but there was no proof, and yet it's known that they did the crime.

OJ Simpson is a good example here.

There's no proof he murdered his wife and so he was not convicted. However, he lost a civil suit because everyone knows he killed his wife.

It's generally believed that he killed his wife and beat the case.

So, with the voting machines, it's much more complex. Can you program a machine to create votes then have that program erase itself?

I knew a programmer who used to program errors into his business programs so the program would malfunction, then the business would call him to fix it, thus ensuring business for him. If a small time guy like that could achieve such manipulations then what could the most powerful programmers do to voting machines?

They could rig the machines and make it untraceable. So, in a situation like that, there isn't going to be "proof" that is obvious, thus that opens up to speculation that will continue on.

What you are doing is expecting "bad guys" to tell you they did something bad.

There were multiple audits done to the paper ballots. To pull this off, you'd have to add votes onlineandadd the same number of paper ballots to the stacks, too. It's pretty implausible, compared to a malignant narcissist refusing to accept that he lost.

This. And we have lawyers from both sides along with international observers who monitor things. It's incredibly unlikely there was sufficient fraud to change the outcome.
