Book recommendation

Just finished 'Ararat' by C. Golden. Solid suspense/horror novel that is a quick read. Would recommend to anyone looking to knock out a few nights of reading. The ending caught me off guard. Enjoy! Anyone have a great read that they would sell me on?

What are you in to? Steven King has a book of short stories that I read about 20 years ago that was pretty cool. Wish I remembered the name of it. I loved it for traveling when I might not have time to read for more than a few mins at a time.

Currently reading The Republic of Pirates. I’m really in to this book! Captain Rogers, black Beard, Robinson Crusoe…I didn’t realize all of these dudes were connected! Rogers and Blackbeard apparently went to school together. Pretty cool stuff.

Notes from the Underground is relatively short and is VERY good too. Dostoevsky is an amazing writer.

Liked a lot of books they made us read in HS. Catcher in the rye, 1984 etc. Those books are one of the few things the education system got right.

Shop class looks interesting too.

I have an entire library of history, economics, and post modern/American Marxist propaganda ranging from The Master and Margarita (This is my favorite book. Truly) to Black Power; Politics of Liberation.

That reminds me, Master and Margarita is a fascinating book. It’s the Bible rewritten in the form of a fantasy in order to evade the eye of the authorities in Stalinist Russia. It was underground until it was printed in the paper in 1967, and finally printed to book form and released in the 1970s. The Master is essentially Jesus, and Woland is the Devil. Super cool book. I’ve read it three times now.

"Return of the Gods". I just finished it. You cannot unread it. When you start to look at clown world as demonic possession of an entire society, it all starts making sense.

Even if you are an non-believer, the parallels between the Old Testament Pagan gods and what we are seeing today is fascinating. I found myself reading sections thinking "that sounds like bull****" and then a few Google searches later I'm like "WTF!!!"

Agreed, we had to read Little Big Man by Thomas Burger. Its was a movie as well with Dustin Hoffman and Chief Dan George. Another book I will not part with.
