Well I said in the other thread this is a politically smart move because it diminishes the importance and relevance of the other Republican contenders. Trump is the overwhelming front runner. Just today he led DeSantis 64% to 36% in a head to head. That’s basically an insurmountable lead. So for the former President of the United States to stand beside a bunch of low level Republican politicians would make Trump appear less powerful.

More importantly, without Trump, nobody is going to really watch the debates, therefore it will make it harder for DeSantis to get heard or for anyone else to break through. It’s the same thing as when the GOP created a 2nd tier debate stage for the 1%ers in 2016. Nobody gave a chit about Santorum and Pataki arguing.

Still, I kind of dislike this decision because I was looking forward to Trump going back on stage and tearing the RINOS to shreds to their faces. It would’ve felt like Mike Tyson’s comeback in 1995. Maybe he’ll change his mind or debate just once.

I don't think he has an issue debating anyone else in the field but it would have to be a non RNC sponsored debate. Basically he's saying the swamp will not be running the show...

Good move. Geotus has nothing to gain by participating in the sham debates. The only goal of these moderators is to corner Trump with bull**** questions to generate the sound bites which they can repeat on all fake news media outlets. No thx jeff.

I don't think even Ronnie wants to participate in the debates at this point unless he gets those questions before hand like Hillary/Brandon. Yesterday a simple question by a reporter sent him to the orbit. Imagine what Trump can do with him in live debates.

i really better not hear it from trumpies about biden dodging debates when their master is too. the sooner we get to trump/biden round 2 and trump loses by more this time around, the better off. lets get this communist takeover done with. trump was at his best when schooling the primary field back in 2016.

the man cant even handle questions about his lockdown don days and doing whatever his daddy fauci told him to do. fking lol

He doesn't want to participate because he knows he'd get ethered by pretty much anyone and debates don't mean anything. The presidential debates were a joke last time. Best to avoid them if he can because it doesn't help his campaign at all.

You know, I really wish everyone would just stop picking on this poor guy. What has he done to deserve this horrible treatment by the media, fake news, Jews, ****** sp!cs, etc.? Nothing. All the man ever wanted to do was subvert democracy in the United States, sell god knows what secrets to Saudi Arabia for billions of dollars, and rape innocent women. Just let him do this in peace, people.

A lot of people hate Trump, and Trump certainly has his faults, but the mainstream GOP is a much bigger threat, bigger liars and orders of magnitude worse than Trump. Neo-conservatism and Crony Corporate practices which chit on the middle class are the core of the modern GOP.

Endless wars, endless spending, endless debt, zero respect for personal liberty, etc... that is all so much worse than Trump's narcassim or alleged and much-investigated potential corruption (which so far hasn't uncovered much).

My biggest complaint about Trump is that he played nice with these people for 4 years and constantly was made a fool of by them when they always betrayed him and betrayed the MAGA policies he may or may not have been pushing.

Him telling them to F off is a major plus in my book, because yeah - fuk them, **** Fox, fuk Mitch, fuk Linsday Graham and all of them.
All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.

Trump's debates against Biden were disastrous. Guy looked like an infant constantly interrupting and insulting. Not surprised he doesn't want to debate.

He has a good point about moderators tho. Washington Post moderators? No thx

This goes back to 2016 where even Fox tried to sabotage him. All they need to do is have neutral debates, but they insist on networks that openly hate Trump 24/7

My answer, just do live stream debates, why give corporate media any ratings. Bring in some generic conservative to host it

I strongly disagree.

Trump's first debate against Biden was so disastrous nearly 60 million people early voted after it.... and they weren't voting for Trump.

How does the RNC belong to Trump? Lmao

That's hugely hypocritical considering the DNC actually rigs their primaries. What's it like to not actually have the choice for your candidate?
