This. I hope it's gif worthy too lol.

Was this your first experience at a fighting sport? I wrestled in HS and that adrenaline rush between waiting for your match and stepping on the mat is unreal. Even in my mid thirties I still have the itch to give it another go. Miss it srs.

Case in point. Cut the drinking out period if you are even still considering this seriously. Should have gone 6 months sober minimum before deciding to even begin this.

He had 2 inches on me too and he looked like he legit lifted … like could do 275 for reps and he was a good boxer … not a exaggerating this guy was an absolute unit like Ivan Drako (sp?) in the flesh

They told me he was a beginner but he trained muay thai for years before taking up boxing
No offense brad but you're always talking about being an athlete. Not taking lifting seriously. Partying all the time. Etc. Terrible ingredients for a fighter.

There is nothing wrong with losing a fight. But if you are going to fight you should at least try to outwork the other guy in terms of training/conditioning. And when you start out play it safe/be defensive till you see what he's about. IE if you lose. Don't lose too fast. And don't get mogged too hard. Other dude most likely took training seriously.

I do respect you for getting in there however. It takes balls to get in a ring. As I'm sure you've learned people respect you more for taking the L then being afraid to get in the ring.

The thing about boxing, especially getting in the ring is you don't want to get hurt. You tell everyone you work with you are running a marathon and it takes you 4-5 hours, at least you finished. You can have half azz training days.

But when you are fighting someone I would never half azz the training because you don't know what the other guy is doing. Or probably in this case you don't know anything about him. So minimal sparring, black out drinking, etc you should pick another sport.

Plus there is the humiliation factor that getting whooped brings on. For that alone I would put in 100% training because I don't like looking bad and people will never forget this.

brahs, this is not that serious. these are not professional fighters.

this is a fun wallstreet event where finance bros all get together and fight for fun. some of you are taking this way too seriously. brad gave it a good shot, trained, looked to get in decent shape, and got blown away. whole crew got drinks afterwards and went back to talking about the stock market, interest rates, bond pricing etc.

lol at everyone upset brad didnt devote his entire life to winning this match

Do you think you and Thomas will become best friends (like Rocky and Creed)? Imagine if in his next fight, Thomas gets killed in the ring by a ****** and you have to avenge your boyo like in Rocky IV.

lol You know how chit like this works. I did a finance softball game like this once and we hired a hitting coach, had a bunch of practices, it was serious.

Maybe he can take you under his wing and help you with the CFA and your boxing?

Good on you for getting in there. I’m sure it was a bit embarrassing, but the respect from people in the crowd would have been legit. They all know that they wouldn’t be brave enough to have a go and wouldn’t do any better.

Our boy Tommy must have been absolutely flying last night though - tall, massive unit, good hairline, passed his CFA Level 3, won by first round KO, probably banged some rocket afterwards.
Just an all round winner in life.

Doubt it. Thomas is most likely a sociopath. He puts on a bubbly front but its all a charade. Those finance guys are soulless

Man as someone who hasn’t fought since elementary school, I have to say mentality is like 85% of the battle

It sounds like you were defeated before a punch was thrown, he wouldn’t have stood a chance if you had the right attitude/confidence and thought he didn’t stand a chance. That was your true weakness, I bet he’s actually like 4’7 and 110lbs but just psyched you out hard.
