Odds and probabilities. If you knew a deck of cards had 42 kings in it, would you demand justice if you were dealt a king?

so you think it's ok to murder someone for yelling, because if they're yelling, they probably have a criminal record?

Man I don't want to live in the city where the guy with 40+ arrests gets out of jail no problem, but i'd much rather live in that than this.

So you'd rather ride the subway with the 42x offender than the marine?

No one can answer this honestly lmao.

JFL.
That may be true but people also need to be held accountable for their actions. No doubt the marine made a mistake and is otherwise a good guy. But it was a big ****ing mistake, one that took a life.

I never said that. Regardless of who I'd rather ride the subway with, it's not right to murder someone for yelling.

The marine only choked him out because he was clearly batchit insane, which a judge already knew 42 times before that day.

Where did you read he was threatening people? All I see is yelling aggressively.

If he was threatening violence that does change things, but the OP and news articles mention nothing about that. Just yelling. In fact they specifically say he wasn't doing anything to anyone physically.

He said, and I quote, "I'm ready to die". And the rest as they say, is history.
When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home.

If he choked him out properly he wouldn’t have a murder charge on him now would he?

Doesn’t matter he wasn’t trying to kill him. He’s not being charged with trying to kill him. What exactly don’t you understand about his mistake and the charges he faces because of it?

Plenty of others have gone to jail for unintentionally killing someone. What exactly are you suggesting, all of those should be allowed to slide? You have to set some kind of standard with the rule. If you want to wave this as just a mistake and it’s ok cause he’s a good guy you gotta start waving lots of other mistakes

So maybe you do want to ride the train with this one who made a mistake. Do you want to ride the train with the drunk husband who accidentally took it too far and beat his wife to death next? That dude also made a mistake that ended in a death. And if his wife never pressed charges to prior beatings, he also may have had a spotless record with no criminal activity.

So I’m genuinely curious, what are you advocating for here? Sh*tty deal this mistake costs him, but no offense you’re a total retard if you don’t think he should be held accountable to that mistake.

I don't like the clown world we're evolving into at all, but i do not want to be in ya'lls world either. There's a middle ground where we don't let people with long criminal records roam the streets repeating the same crimes, but we also don't make it ok to kill people for stepping out of line a bit or having made past mistakes.

If someone walks up to me and screams that they don't care and they're ready to die, I am going to assume they are going to try to harm me.

How many mistakes is too many? How many times do you have to push old women onto train tracks before it's best to put you down for society's benefit?

I'd argue that if you have 3 arrests on your record, and someone kills you on the train, maybe your killer gets a LOT of leniency on their charge... after 42 arrests, the choker really shouldn't be charged at all.

and so you'd kill someone for yelling at you? Despite them not threatening you? Just informing you that they're ready to die? How do you know he;s not about to jump off a building?

Agreed on some leniency on the marine is deserved here given the criminal history, i believe the courts typically do consider that stuff.

and you'll be in the subway forever, right? And the only way to kill yourself is to jump off a building? Maybe he took some pills? Are you such a moron that you can't think of more than one possibility?

You can't kill someone for that. thank god people like you don't run the justice system. Criminals would roam the city murdering people and you just say "but he said he was ready to die! clearly i was within my rights to kill the man!"

I hope one of your family members isn't victimized and you have to learn the hard way. Maybe, had he never been choked out, the next person he pushed onto an oncoming train may have been one of your two fathers.

The report doesn't say much of anything. And if that's all you're going on it's silly to claim he was murdered for yelling.

Possibly he was murdered. Equally as possible it was legitimate self defense.
A young bull and an old bull were standing atop a hill looking at a bunch of heifers in a field below.

The young bull says "Let's run down this hill and fuk one of those heifers."

The old bull replies "No. Let's walk down there, and fuk them all."

And given his criminal history, I think an assumption is in order here.
