A 22-year-old man fatally shot his girlfriend Wednesday in west Oak Cliff over an abortion, court records say.

Harold Thompson faces a murder charge in connection with the slaying of 26-year-old Gabriella Gonzalez. He was booked into the Dallas County jail Wednesday, and also faces a charge of assault of a household member, according to jail records. It was unclear if he has an attorney.

About 7:40 a.m. Wednesday, officers were dispatched to the 800 block of South Walton Walker Boulevard, near Keeneland Parkway, where they found Gonzalez shot and on the ground in a parking lot.

Dallas Fire-Rescue responded and Gonzalez died at the scene, police said.

According to an arrest-warrant affidavit, surveillance video shows Thompson and Gonzalez walking together when Thompson attempts to put Gonzalez in a chokehold. Gonzalez “shrugs him off,” the affidavit says, and they continue walking.

Thompson then pulls out a gun and shoots her in the head, according to the affidavit. After she hits the ground, Thompson shoots her several more times and flees, the affidavit says.

Gonzalez had just returned the night before from getting an abortion in Colorado, police wrote in the affidavit. Thompson, who is believed to have been the father of the child, the affidavit says, didn’t want her to get an abortion.

Thompson remained in custody Friday. His bail has not been set.

Agreed, seriously, but that does not absolve us in the here and now. We do what we are to do regardless, and that includes holding the baby killers and their defenders accountable. Yes, that is God's plan but that is the ultimate reality not the excuse.

No, I have, literally for decades. You also assume I am a racist of some sort, but that is incorrect. The problem is with liberalism as an underlying and fundamental ideology for a society and culture, such as your liberal beliefs (angry at that), that is the destructive ideology. I am speaking about liberalism in the grand sense so that includes most of what is considered "conservative" too. If there was a far more traditional society then abortion would be very rare and only for true medical emergencies. It would also be considered as baby killing in the legal sense so that mothers that did underground sneaky ones would held as criminals and murderers. Then their would be no population issue and unwanted children issue. Relax and think these things through without raging based off of feminist and liberal talking points. That is very "Talmudic," so be careful.

There's a point during the pregnancy where I feel like it's definitely killing a child, but I'd never use it as a blanket statement for all abortions. Just makes you look stupid in a discussion.
