Early GOTY predictions?

I know there's plenty more coming this year, but out of what you've played so far, do you think there are GOTY contenders out there?

For me, Hogwarts Legacy was a strong contender, but after playing Totk for a few days, I gotta give it to Zelda. I don't know if I'll ever be able to finish this damn game. It's so goddamn big with so much random chit happening.

I'm excited to see if anything tops this one in 2023.

What are your picks so far? Any predictions for an upcoming title to take home the gold?




Haven't played RE4 remake, but I heard it's even better than the OG, so it's sure to be a contender as well.

Zelda wins already.

Starfield is the only potential threat though.

This. My personal GOTY so far is RE 4 and it's an absolute masterpiece, but I suspect Zelda will win.

No chance it's any more of a contender than Spiderman 2 will be (HNNNNNG!), but I don't see any chance in Hell either of those take it. That being said, I think the latter might end up being my personal GOTY, or at least I hope so...

Yep. Trust in Todd's sweet little lies and he'll deliver. According to the reveal trailer there will be over 100 star systems and over 1,000 planets to explore.



They have since fixed the janky combat. Dunno how much so, though.

It honestly doesn't even matter how good Starfield, FF16, and Spiderman 2 are..... Just based on the overall reception to Zelda alone, and it's sandbox building simulator thing, it's pretty much locked down for GOTY. I don't even think BoTW was all the great either. But ToTK has it in the bag. I am absolutely confident in that.

Zelda is almost a lock. The only thing that may compete with it is Final Fantasy.

I'm not saying that because I'm personally so hyped. There are previews going live for it on Monday and rumor is the response is VERY strong with people leaving the preview basically calling it GOTY.

I could see it being a 2018 situation where everyone thought RDR 2 was a lock but people picked GOW cause it was something completely fresh.

Stop. Why cant you MISCels just accept the game is a GOAT. Everyone is biased, most of you idiots are biased against nintendo for some reason.

That doesnt mean Zelda is never actually worthy of the praise. I had almost zero hype for TOTK and it simply is so good it didnt matter in the end. 10 million copies sold in 3 days doesnt just happen.
