Is Ron DeSantis the Ted Cruz of 2024 primary?

It seems like an awfully similar situation. Cruz did very well against Trump and i supported Cruz myself at the time but in the end there was just more Trump support between the two. I think people just wanted that outsider mentality more. I think we are headed for a similar outcome. What say you?

Possibly, but I'd say DeSantis has significantly more tangible accomplishments to his name than Cruz.

Except Cruz was decent in public speaking and hes also a good debater.. As opposed to Rob, whose voice and public demeanor makes him drop a few points in polls everytime he appears in public. Not to mention Cruz wasn't totally owned by establishment like Rob.

they do both have a full head of thick hair, something to be envious of.

Normally journalists like to write that DeSantis is similar to Trump. I've seen that mention all the time. But Desantis isn't like Trump. at least i don't think so.
There are differences between the two I've noticed, from demeanor, some policies such as being against COVID lockdowns, parents school rights, etc.

Cruz 2016 had worse favorables than even Donald Trump. People just find Cruz to be slimy and shady. DeSantis's favorables are a little more neutral.
