Average men of every race struggle. But I wasn't even referring to strict Tyrones - average height, good physique and social skills will do well.

There are other factors at play outside of the West. Some Asian or African country has a dramatically different set of circumstances versus the US, of course.

In my opinion to ensure dating success one should be above average in more than one category, whether that be physicality, status, money (to do interesting hobbies, invest in yourself), or charisma. In the Western World White men are the default character and there is status tied to being a white man in spite of all the backlash they are getting nowadays, so yes as a Black man has to level up or seen as a better option in many cases unless a woman simply finds Black men more attractive or that's their type.

Does that mean your dating options as a Black Man will dry up? No, but I will say that there has been a smear campaign against Black men and their image for decades not only from White society but also internally. The Color Purple made us seem like ALL Black Men abused their women when in reality Black Men suffer the highest inter partner violence among any male group. That doesn't diminish abuse done to Black women but rarely if ever does anyone discuss bidirectional violence in the Black community where one can be a perpetrator of violence and victim.

We don't always have the agency to act as individuals. While White men can date whoever and celebrated for it, we are scrutinized. Our community dismisses at times Black men who are 'square' in the sense and take STEM jobs. Why try and become a doctor when you have a .00001% chance of being drafted into the NFL or NBA? As far as navigating the landscape I'd say don't see external validation. You MUST have inner game. Hell this is for all men. I believe I have a great package in terms of the man I am but some women may not see it because you have a limited interaction with them.
