Any liberals here that would vote DeSantis over Biden today?

If today was Election Day and those were the two choices on the ballot, which way you going?

I see him as a real threat but i don't know much about the guy.
The news highlights his most controversial policies and it seems that most R voters still love Trump....... if he can get rid of his legal stuff....(doubtful).

Interesting. What do you like about Trump more than DeSantis? I voted for Trump twice but think DeSantis has the potential to be much better as president and would/will definitely vote for Ron over Don.

Normal people read the platform completely before deciding.
We have only heard drips and drabs about his most controversial opinions.
Given the list of on deck people he seems normal

Liberals aren't voting for DeSantis.

It's the ****uette moderates/independents that are key. Blumpf will preform horribly with them, but it's extremely likely that DeSantis fares far better with them despite running on a platform further to the right than Blumpf. It all comes back to Blumpf's unhinged behavior and the constant drama surrounding him.

Trump only has one term remaining and he largely can’t get anything done that isn’t an executive order because he lacks the patience, maturity, and respect to negotiate with Congress.

Trump could also keel over dead any day now from being overweight, an unhealthy eater, and nearing 80.

No he is as crazy if not more so than trump. The GOP is no longer interested in unity, policy or even to benefit us Americans anymore. The whole GOP shtick is now just looking for any boogie man to scare their deplorables to vote for them to gain personal power.

One thing I’ve considered, whether it’s happening naturally or is staged, is that the drama between Trump and DeSantis will put a lot of distance between the two which may make DeSantis more palatable for the TDS sufferers. Obviously a lot will see him as a representation of many things they hate, but at least the Trump effect will be somewhat negated.

Can you provide some examples that make you think he is as crazy as Trump?

I’d also argue that the left is at least as bad(probably worse) when it comes to constructing boogeymen. They do it with racism, gender pay gap, constantly tell their constituents that they’re victims, etc., etc. And then they get into power and side with criminals over law abiding citizens while helping continue the same old song and dance to take in tons of profit. And again the right does it as well, but I’d say it’s probably worse on the left. The left is worse for the middle class than the right at this point, when it used to be the opposite.

Unfortunately that era is long gone. There used to be smear campaigns against your opponent, sure. But now political stances literally mean nothing. Biden won in 2020 by solely basing his entire campaign on orange man bad. That's all any of his voters heard. Most even said that he's not the best candidate, but "anyone over Trump". Hell back in the day the losing electoral candidate became the Vice President. I feel like that'd be a great idea honestly... possibly ignite some actual meaningful discussions. But look at the voter base nowadays, especially with what's being fed to them from both mass media and social media. It's a complete clown show clusterfuk.

Changing the law here in Fl just do that he can run for POTUS
Adding laws so he doesn’t have to disclose what or how much he spends FL taxpayers money on
Picking up illegals from a different state to fly them to another state with taxpayers money just for political stunts
The whole drama with the Gay community (you may not agree with it but A Lot of regular folk have gay relatives and they are not going to attack their family members over Desantis or culture wars)
He just signed a law to make ElonnMusk Space X program liability free if there rocket explodes and hurts people or property here within 24 hours of announcing his candidacy on Elons Twitter (shady quid pro quo)
The whole attacking Disney because they said mean things …

The list keeps growing on a weekly. Once regular people get a whiff of what he has been up to it will most likely further sink him.

I see the main stream media spin is still highly effective.

OP there isn't a SINGLE Republican candidate that liberals would even consider voting for over ANY Democrat candidate. The media will (and has started to with Desantis) convince them that whoever the candidate is is worse than Trump (who was literally Hitler).

Depends on who they're running against. But there is absolutely no way if a Republican candidate was as awful as Biden has been (and as CLEARLY unhealthy) that I could vote for them. In 2024 I would literally vote for any Democrat or Republican from the 2020 election over him. He is effectively not even the President and the country is being run by... I don't know who, but someone we didn't elect.

My ideal Democrat would probably be Bill Clinton reincarnated, but he would be considered a RINO in todays world of politics. He could never win a Democratic nomination.

Biden. DeSantis has already said he basically plans on governing based off his religious beliefs which is a major no for me. His far right views are as bad as the far left loons that think it's ok for mem to compete in women's sports and change in their locker rooms.

That election was “stolen “ just ask Mike Lindell pillow fluffer extraordinaire. Desantis changed the voting maps to favor republicans, made an “Election Police” that conveniently ignored fraudulent R voters (and there was a few) but made sure to be harsh on anything Democratic plus all the higher ups that certify and are in charge of the elections here are ALL his “Yes men”. It’s not hard to imagine he barely won his 1st election but did much better on the second election because all the precautions and moves he made to fortify it. It was a stolen election and you all should know about that after crying about “stolen elections” for 3 years straight now ;-)

I have a hard time thinking DeSantis can beat Trump. Trump is really out in front, and idk how DeSantis would ever pull ahead...even if Trump's legal issues get a lot worse (which they might).

That said, DeSantis appears imo too much concerned with culture war. I'm really not a fan of his, really not of Trump...and Biden should really retire and open the field.

I'd rather see someone like Roy Cooper go up against DeSantis, but my hopes are not at all high that it will happen.
