How much to spend on wedding gift and when do you buy?

Got a wedding of a close friend coming up in 2 months. I noticed a lot of things are vanishing off the registry. Is it too early to buy and send their gift?

How much should I spend? $100? $150? $200?

Weddings are the original ******** before the internet.

oh look at me! I'm so important, you should book a flight across the country to see me for a day because I'm confirming my relationship with the government! Isn't that so special? Arent you so happy for us? We are even paying someone to take pics of us all day!

lmfao.

If weddings didn't exist, and someone presented this idea to you, you'd think they were retarded/narcissistic

if it's some person I know but am not super close with then I'll hit their registry for like a $40 item

I haven't gone to a wedding since I was a little kid ( I think I only went to two even then...one ended in divorce, the other is an uncle married to a Karen). I've been invited to numerous ones as an adult, but am an ******* and haven't gone to any of them.

I hate the "registry" thing, that seems so tacky to me (and I've seen some). "Hey we're inviting you to this event, but if you're going to come...here's a list of gifts we would like". I don't want to come to your event in the first place.

The traditional thing is give them enough to pay for your meal plus a bit extra, so it depends on how swanky the wedding is and how close you are to them.

For a good friend, I'd give something that means something to that person and maybe them as a couple like an engraved whatever with their names or something like that. Or if they are buying a house for example, a welcome mat with Mr and Mrs. whatever on it. Doesn't have to be expensive and you can find stuff on Etsy that would be done and delivered in that time. Stuff off a registry is just house junk usually.

I can get that, but...if you've invited me to something (that I don't want to attend in the first place - then I have to travel and dress up for), then don't expect me to give you a gift for doing so...especially don't provide me a list of something that I should provide for the honor of attending this event (like Gilmore Girls season whatever DVDs, which I've seen)- that's extra insulting.

just take your blood pressure tomorrow morning and use that to send him whatever dollar amount your bp is.,

so if you have bp of 190, you are sending $190

I was on medicine for a few weeks, but it caused my ankles to swell up. So I got off that.

Then I did nothing (no medicine, no more exercise, no weight loss, etc..) and it dropped down to 130ish.

I have no idea what was going on. I was actually 170-185 for almost 2 months.

No idea. Doctor is baffled now just as much as why I was 185 to begin with.

Is the ankle thing not a circulation/heart symptom? Or just the meds?

Weird

1) max it got up to was 191 but it hovered around 170-185 for 2 months. I got on medicine, but got off when it made my ankles swell up. I did nothing (no weight loss, no meds, no anything) and it dropped to 130 and stays there. Doctor is just as confused as to how it dropped as to why it was so high. I see a specialist soon. As much as I was pro vaccine, I did get the booster a couple weeks before my BP shot up….

2) It’s like 390ish right now. Gotta start working out again and see if it raises, if not, gotta look into some long term plans.

3) She is doing well. Trying to find her a house but the market is dead.

It’s a side of the medicine, Amlodipine.

Yea idk. I see a specialist in 2.5 weeks, my doctor is confused. Wants to order some heart tests.

I'd probably spend $100, give or take depending on the item I wanted to get them.

i think i spent $100 for a close friend of mine, although I feel like I should've done $150 or $200 because the wedding was extremely nice and honestly that $100 i sent him probably didn't even cover my food/bar tab (open restaurant/open bar)
