It's funny I was debating a friend of mine about the same thing and he shed some light about it. Saints are like conduits for God and we all ultimately pray to God but at the same time we are appreciative of Saints.

We do pray directly to God AND Saints and Angles.

St. Michael is actually an angel of God. St. Michael fights for us directly.

Earthly Saints who are now in Heaven, we ask them to pray for us as well as we ourselves pray to God directly. It's why we ask others to pray for us, brothers, sisters, friends, even strangers to pray FOR us.

I think Christianity instills good values but I can't quite get myself to actually believe, in a sense. But it does have a lot of good wisdom.

I assumed you probably would know of the context of Catholic prayer. Catholics pray for each other, Catholicism is full communion of everything of God united under Christ. When I think of praying to saints i dont make the distinction that theyre "dead" or alive but that the righteous prayers are always powerful and they can intercede for us. There is no other form of Worship as complete as Catholicism. You can not remove the church from Jesus, the church is Jesus' body on earth and is the conclusion to Judaism under the sacrifice of Christ, theres also apostolic succession direct from the bible that is directly tied to the church

There are many would be gods out there, just look at the various pantheons that Jesus Christ eradicated and how they are starting to make a come back 1000 years later under various secret societies.

God IS NOT part of His creation, I repeat NOT part of His creation.

So when God became flesh, He had to test Himself to see if He was good - which of course He did and passed with flying colours.

God prays to The Father because Jesus relies on Himself and so prays to Himself and also because the father is SEPARATE to His creation- Jesus also says that only the father knows when His return will be... in John is states that Jesus is there in the beginning and that all things were made through Him.

Actually, the New Testament was written at around the time of Christ's death and resurrection - maybe only 20-30 years after the fact.

You have to remember that at around that time the church was still new and it took nearly 400 years for it to become the state religion of the Roman Empire - so the Gospels are condensed versions with key events... I think it's in JOhn that it says that the true number of miracles Jesus performs is innumerable.

At that point in time it was just the 12 apostles who went preaching - St.Thomas went all the way to India even, so now there's Oriental Orthodox churches in India, believe it or not.

Why was Jesus praying to himself if he was God? Ask this question of Islam, it will give you an answer immediately and the answer is always consistent and the same. From a taxi driver to an Imam, they can all answer it and its always consistent. Ask this question of a Christian, and you get a different answer almost every single time, almost always interpretive and one that demands your faith in their interpretation. A Muslim will just tell you that Jesus was praying to God and prayed regularly as all Muslims do, because Jesus was a prophet, a messenger and the messiah. He was however not God, he was just deified by people at the time who were mesmerized by his miracles.

The idea that God would need to test himself is absurd, and that borders on blasphemy. Nothing in the scripture says that, and if God transcends all creation, time and space, the last thing God needs to do is prove anything.

The Gospels were in Aramaic, then translated to Greek before they were compiled into the New Testament. The Church decided what it would discard. The Quran was delivered as a complete book and memorized so that it could be passed on orally. Its complete, the Bible is not. Again, the expectation is that we should have faith that the Council of Nicene was guided by the Holy Spirit.
