Yeah it is not full socialist - you require a socialist planned economy and a totalitarian gov.

It used to have both now has the only latter.

Failure of the socialist economic system is exactly why they have all the pollution-creating manufacturing hubs, 9-9-6 work schedules and CCP-backed owners getting the pass when some molten **** drops on some worker's head.

They just don't care - they just want strong economic growth to enforce stability over the people to avoid another square protests.

Yeah, a small number of upper class coddled zoomers asperger-ing the "economic system should follow the principles of survival of the fittest, deal with it libzzz" can just try to be edgy - no one cares.

But it is exactly libertarianism that lets a group of people, ideally with the right to arm themselves, to go and enforce their desires on Gov.

Just look at footage from the 2008 crisis and contrast:

a) French workers - at 1:27:00 timestamp.

b) Chinese workers - at 1:19:00 timestamp.

Not all socialism is fail or requires totalitarian planning. There is such a thing as market socialism and democratic socialism.

You may romanticize libertarianism, but what you are really talking about is general liberalism. Libertarianism, especially of the American brand, is full on retardation.

You keep saying "oh it is only a fringe" or "no one is that retarded", but you would be wrong. You don't understand America. We have a LOT of really retarded people.

IMHO America has a lot of market socialism - in fact, many anti-competitive laws come about from the USA to prevent from the money-mogging feudal lords to money-mog us too much.

Is there any country that is a full blown wild west? Again, some very small minority far-right old psychos, who probably enjoyed torturing people in Vietnam, and their grandson who have never seen real struggle - who cares? They are like super unhinged far-left - vapor.

Is there any "public face" of Conservatives that endorses this? When I imagine someone I imagine Ben Shapiro - would he endorse that? I dont think so.

what the **** is democratic socialism anyway? I do not understand if they are for full socialist planned economy or only aspects? if it is the latter, is there any free market country that is NOT a democratic socialist one? srs

Ben Shapiro regularly argues against things like climate change regulations. He's an antiscientific lunatic whose only training is in law. He has no clue what he is talking about on anything related to science or environmental safety.

They are for a compromise. Sensible regulation where efficient, and state power controlled by a democracy.

Nobody wants USSR style socialism in America. We saw its problems. Everyone learned from them.

And yes, there are several public faces, such as Rand Paul, Thomas Massie, and others who may mean well at times, but are so obsessed with liberty that they are willing to go against basic common sense regulations.

I mean, anything could happen here. Little kids can find anyway to kill themselves. I wouldn't even say this is a design flaw. This is the parents fault for not showing them the dangers of that door.

If kids are ever expected to ride this elevator, it's a design flaw. Part of engineering is understanding how the product might be accidentally or deliberately misused.

Have you ever written a piece of software? Ever noticed how much more time is spend on bugs and unanticipated user interactions?

But again tho, the way I see it:

- To have a MOSTLY or FULLY gov planned economy you need a totalitarian gov (to control all resources, otherwise you have a power vacuum and the people with ruthless genetics climb to the top).

^ the problem with the above is that the ruthless people will end up eventually in the gov and if they are totalitarian they have both control over the resources but also OVER YOU

- If you have a democracy and a fully gov planned economy you end up having a free economy voted in

- I think literally every free market economy is regulated to a certain extend with socialist elements - the scale tips a bit more towards one side in Norway compared to the USA, yes, but the base principles are the same.

I very much think that major economies in WE and NA are essentially democratically socialist - it is kinda a similar descriptor of regulated free markets.

Its not a design flaw in this particular situation because you have to PURPOSELY close yourself into that doorway. There are design flaws but this is not one of them. This is just kids being extremely naive and dumb and parents not watching and teaching their kids.

It should never be mostly planned. I mean maybe you could with AI, but I doubt it. It could be mostly state controlled, but not directly planned.

Nope. People can vote in regulations sensibly.

Yeah but the US is lacking severely in certain kinds of regulations and failing to sensibly allocate resources. That's why inequality is growing and poverty has increased lately along with basic metrics like education, healthcare, infant mortality, etc.

Which type of "ism" we are is ultimately irrelevant. what matters is if we are sensibly allocating our resources toward good outcomes for our civilization.

And I do not consider homelessness, poverty, infant and child mortality, crime, low levels of education, high levels of deaths to preventable diseases, or insane opulence for a handful of people while others suffer to be a good outcome.

Can you give an example for the difference between state controlled and state planned - for just one economic resource/industry to keep it simple?

E.g. energy in certain countries owned and controlled by the gov - they set prices, allocations, own and maintain infrastructure (which is planning).

I am not sure if there is a difference.

Whereas an industry existing and the state placing regulations from laws that end up disrupting its operations in various ways - that is what most current free market economies, incl the USA, do

High State control: China, Russia, Saudi Arabia

State planned: Cuba, USSR

So for example, Saudi Arabia has full control of Saudi Aramco, but the oil economy isn't planned by them, but rather dictated by the market or the larger cartel behavior. Saudi Arabia is a good example of a largely state controlled market economy that isn't planned.

Control simply equates to ownership. But use of price controls, quotas, etc to shape the market is direct planning.

But how is China a high state control?

They do not regulate anything unless it is to keep CCP power - my Chinese landlord who is in his late 50s and has lived in China, USA and UK told me that China is the most capitalist country in the world right now.

The only thing they keep high control of are the china-capital version of money-moggers for a nice fat cut, then they send their children to the top universities in UK, USA and Canada and buy up a **** ton of real estate in every major city to safe guard themselves if the CCP round of job cuts (aka corruption arrests) come along.

China owns like 60% of the enterprises. Right, state owned but not planned.

He can say that, but China kills billionaires who fuk up and executes the board of people who poison the public. The US has yet to do either.

It is widely unknown how much of these trials are show-trials srs.

Although I am pretty sure Xi doesnt give a **** about some 3rd tier city feudal lord laundering 2m USD via his children in LA because 2m is too little when it comes to the Chinese economy.

I think you have the wrong impression of Xi and China. And if you only talk to expats who left decades ago, you are going to get a very biased view.

So you think simply saying you don't like the government gets you killed? And where do they find the resources to track what everyone says? They visit you and tell you to stfu if you're a public figure speaking out. Otherwise, nobody gives a chit. You think Chinese people don't have opinions? During covid, tons of Chinese protested the govt. Were they all murdered?

Maybe if you're really outspoken, you can get kicked out of school. But I think the West is being melodramatic here.

Do you think there is no internal debate in the CCP? China has think tanks too, along with policy analysts who make suggestions to change course. It's just done politely and with respect for the govt. Not like here.

communist until you get rich
rightwing until financially secure
atheist until the plane starts falling
slootist until you get married

I mean they have an interesting system. Were it not marred by corruption, it would be kind of cool. You have to take a test to serve in government there, and then you work your way up. So it keeps the retards out.

It just adopted market economy. It's very much still a communist country in their vision. They just updated communism to work better.
