I still think it was a shark in that video but they weren't anchored when it happened. It was moving. A mother of one of the kids said....

This was a booze cruise, and they were on their way back when this happened," the one student's mother said. "My son texted me when it happened, saying, ‘Cameron jumped off. They can’t find him.' They were out there until 2, 3 in the morning.

Also...the family has requested that the authoriities STOP looking into if this was a shark incident and just call him 'lost at sea'...which 100% tells me that they think it was a shark attack. No way you give up like that if you think he could have swam to an island. For whatever reason they know it's a shark that probably did it.

"None of the experts consulted can definitely say what's in the video due to the quality and length of the video," Trascher said. "The Robbins family has requested that we not entertain that (shark) theory any longer, so our official position is that we don't know what happened while Cam was in the water."

Authorities officially designated Robbins as "lost at sea," which is the same as a death certificate, and a memorial service for Robbins will be held Sunday at Broadmoor United Methodist Church in Baton Rouge.

That's what all tourist operators say. If they can blame a missing person on anything besides a shark or alligator or kangaroo spider they will. If it gets in the news that sharks are devouring people the minute they fall in the water a lot less tickets get sold.

I have been right near that island (within 25 feet) where it happened and have been on the exact route to and from the island as well. You take off from the boat launch at Paradise Island and are pretty close to land the entire time. You go by Paradise Island for a stretch until the island ends where the big golf course and some gigantic houses are, and then almost immediately where that island ends the Athol Island where they cruised to starts. You are always close to land as I said and I am guessing that gave the kid some false courage that he could just swim to land if he had to. Water is also not very deep.

My wife and I took the undersea cruise where you can go below deck and water and look out glass windows to see the fish and we never saw sharks. Just small fish. I remember thinking that I was surprised that I didn't see any sharks. Of course it was daytime as well so they might not be as active.

But I still believe that was a shark in the video at 3 seconds.

EDIT: regarding line about the family:

From the popo:

"The Robbins family has requested that we not entertain that (shark) theory any longer, so our official position is that we don't know what happened while Cam was in the water.""

So yeah, hes ate. its why the search was called off after only 2 days. If you read between the lines, its them basically our original theory was he got ate, but family asked us not to speak of it...

Also the water is very clear there and there are lots of boats that give tours everyday on the route where the kid was. These boats have the below deck clear windows and you can literally see for 100s of feet along the ocean bottom. So it is possible since there are so many of these tours everyday that something might be found. Not likely if it was sharks but possible.

The more I think about it the more it had to be sharks. And he was eaten.

Thinking back to that tour we took, you are just so close to land and there are so many boats that use that exact route everyday. And the route and the area where he was is not that big.

If he drowned he would probably start floating at some point and with so many boats around he would be spotted. So for the family to give up a search even for his body after 2 days is odd to me.

Unless they are sure Jaws got him.

Only thing I said before was I thought that was a shark at the 3 second mark but was unsure how he died. Drowning or shark.

After the officials response above, its pretty much 100%. They're saying OG theory is he got ate. Parents asked us not to speak of it.

Yeah but lots of people are in the ocean for hours or even a day or 2 surrounded by sharks and never get eaten. For example this guy spent 20 hours treading water surrounded by sharks after falling off a cruise ship.....

Certainly what it reads like. To be far, the give away was the cancelling of the search after only a couple days - Super quick, they knew day 1.

Miscers dumb af thinking sharks are like pitbulls lol, they only ever attack when they mistake the silhouette of a surf board as a seal, then when they taste the blood they go for more.

At about 0:03 you see the shark and at the VERY corner of the frame it appears that he sees it too and hence why he begins swimming the opposite direction. It’s hard to be for sure but it looks like he sees it or is wondering if he just saw it and begins to freak.

100% shark got him
