When you think about it, Nintendo can't fail for this one simple reason

No hover

Couch co-op.

It seems other companies forget people still have real life friends and family that they'd like to play with IRL.

I'd heard great things about Deep Rock Galactic, so I watched some videos about it. Thought to myself, "This looks like a great multiplayer game. I wonder if it has split screen. "

Alas, it did not. It's not like people don't want couch co-op. It Takes Two had it, and that's part of the reason I enjoy that game. Some of my best memories are growing up playing games with my brothers, friends, and my parents from time to time. It seems like Nintendo are the main ones trying to keep that spirit alive. Some of its biggest hits are couch co-op, and it's designed for two player action on the fly with joycons.

I wish there would be some couch co op revival. Until then, Nintendo basically owns that market, and can't fail especially for that reason imo.

Dont you dare bring up Deep Rock as a negative in any form brah!!!!

Some of my best memories have come from Deep Rock Galactic playing with my friends / meeting other cool people and building a mining community together srs. The real treasure in Deep Rock were the friendships we mined along the way.

They can't fail cuz they make actual exclusives that people love. I'm not a nintycel at all but I gotta respect them staying true to their roots for so long. Customers always know what to expect from them and that builds brand loyalty.

Nintendo will never fail because they make gameplay-first videogames.

Quality gameplay is objective and universal. Unlike the retards in the west making movie games, a far more volatile approach because a good story is very subjective.

You will never hear, "Wow, that Nintendo game was trash because the story sucked", because the people who play Nintendo games play it for the gameplay.

this is the main reason imo. I know when i buy a new mario, i'm getting a mario. When i buy a new halo, i have no idea what i'm getting

they branch out and add a new IP every once in a while (pikmin, xenoblade chronicles, splatoon) and if those stick, what happens? fans know exactly what they're getting with sequels

2 is a lot of the same but a bit better then 1.

3 if not for the amount of cutscenes I’d like it. So many cutscenes are battles they should make you fight not make you sit and watch while you have no control over the outcome.

They have some of the best designers, composers, etc in the industry.

Even with the Wii U failing, it still had some great games:
Mario 3D world, pikmin 3, dkc tropical freeze, captain toad, Bayonetta 2

Nintendo doesn't fail because they put their games first and foremost to the point that it's embedded in their corporate culture. Imagine, a video game company where their cultureisvideo games and not "culture of the day/week/month because they know that video games are meant for everyone to be able to enjoy 365 days a year.

You know Donkey Kong 64? You know his coconut gun that fires in bursts? Originally it was a regular oldgun, and when Miyamoto went to check in on Rare's progress, he quickly sketched out a redesign of what we know today. The people at the top have historically been deeply involved because they care.

When the Wii-U disappointed, the executives took pay cuts until they came up with success through the Switch.

When Redfall failed, Microsoft realized that maybe they should actually get involved with these companies they own and bother to ask, "so, what's up?"

Nintendo isfarfrom perfect, but they have an admirable passion and commitment to making video games that many other companies in the industry could learn to at leasttryto adopt.

A LOT of today's games are being released as final products but missing features that were supposed to be in the game only to be added MONTHS even a year later

and of course those companies also wait til the hype dies then they suddenly go no contact with the game and people are left asking why iss my full price $70-$100 game missing the other 30% of the features

Like others have said, they won't fail because they are reliable and you always know what you're getting when you buy their games.

I haven't played Nintendo since the Wii era but it's comforting to know that I can always go back and the games will be just as good as they were before.

Nintendo have some of the GOAT game design. Now while I don't always love their games, I still always respect them. For example, I think Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom are horrendously tedious and dull, but when I watch other people play them getting joy I can see why they are heralded as masterpieces.
Mario Odyssey, Bowser's Fury, Kirby and the Forgotten Land, all fun.

What I'd like Nintendo to do is bring back some of their sidelined franchises. A Donkey Kong Country with the vibes of 1 and 2, more new Metroid games, more Star Fox games, etc. They should buy Goemon from Konami, too.

They simply need MORE games. Hopefully a new Mario is on the way.

I haven't been a "hardcore" Nintendo fan since I was a kid, and most of that was Rareware titles anyway. That being said, most of their top games are very well made. It makes other console exclusives feel almost ghetto.

I feel like Starfox is dead. Metroid Prime 4 is coming out, and of course there was Dread that came out recently (and was great and kinda spooky). I feel like the only person not on the DK hype train. Last one I beat was DK 64.

Dunno about only, but it looks like a Switch only costs about $167 to make. They are rolling in dough.

Don't listen to him, it's good, but not as good as DKC2.

Absolutely worth checking out though, but feels like a generic clone of the classic games.
