Started playing last night. Today there are authentication errors and crashes happening. I DCed from a thunderstorm and that seemed to be the problem that some are not able to get back in. The servers are kicking back errors after a DC.

This seems to be a problem they have had since the authentication was released.

I can't be the only one having these fking insane frame drops. I know it's not my computer. I run this game at like 160+ FPS without DLSS with all ultra settings at 1440P.

Toggle map on and off - frames drop into the teens for no reason at all for 30-40 seconds.
Come out of a load screen - frames drop into the teens for no reason at all for 30-40 seconds.
In and out of town sometimes - same thing.

This same chit was happening to me during teh beta and I assumed they'd have it fixed by now. I'm on the latest GPU driver snad my 4070Ti is way, way more than enough GPU for this game.

Nah it isn't the CPU then,
I read that the game has a memory leak and that's causing the stutters and frame drops. Should be patched soon

A lot of server side stuff. Rubberbanding can be seen when others are around.

I think the servers are just getting slammed. I don't have my data running when I'm playing, but it's too consistent to be internet latency or CPU. It's bad communicating with server side.

Altars and the campaign skip (after youโ€™ve finished it once) carry over to seasonal, but otherwise renown is reset.

If you haven't check and play around with the background/foreground fps settings

I can't remember but I'm sure the default settings were messed up. I think I just put them 1 above my monitor refresh rate.

Game couldn't handle when I moved to my other monitor either

Seems like they tried to make this game an MMO lite but then scrapped all the interaction with other players. There isn't even a global chat? I don't get it. Should have just made it a single player offline game if that's what they wanted. Why have world bosses when they make it so hard to interact with players?

The game is alright. Graphics are good and combat is responsive. The PC UI is very bad. It is a mobile/console UI with no adjustability. Camera is too zoomed in. For $70-100 all of this should be more polished and adjustable. The UI just feels janky. Should feel premium considering the price of the game.
It resembles Diablo Immortal a lot... almost like they made 1 game and sold it as 2.

6/10 in current state but has potential to be better.

I see it. I liked Llama, he's a good rapper too low key, but he just comes across as arrogant sometimes and unwatchable with his whining. The game is definitely not perfect. Some of my complaints that others have said:

- gem bag would be nice
- I see people higher level not able to get rid of unique/legendaries and start accumulating in their stash. there should be a way to get rid of these items or trade them
- some of these nerfs are dumb IMO. nerf PVP a bit to make it more balanced -- fine. but nerfing things like TB just make the build more sluggish. why? it's mostly a pve game, let people have fun. how are you gonna make the game gold and then go and change how it works when it's launched? i don't get that aspect.


for me i am way behind to the sweaty nerds, im only level 51 and don't get much time to play every day. i used to be that sweaty nerd and miss those days sometimes TBH lol. would have been level 90+ if so.

the end game is overwhelming with so much to do, i still need to catch up on renown, side quests, etc and that takes a lot of time to complete. then im sitting there at 4am before I go to bed like, is this really worth me playing when this time could be spent elsewhere?

im the kind of gamer that wants to be the best at it, or one of them. and having not much time anymore to play is kinda discouraging with how far I see other people are.

Damn, that act 6 cinematic. Just about finished the campaign last night. Little bit left to wrap up. Cant decide if I want to make a new character after or wait til season 1 for that.

What are you playin boyo? Yeah the cinematics are great. Was hoping to see one that rivaled the Lilith summoning D4 announcement one, but nothing has came close to that. The one where Asteroth came outta nowhere with the cerebus heads was pretty dope tho

Yeah, I'm cognizant about trying not to open any menus right after I portal somewhere due to this - will crash the game on occasion.

Why go through so much effort to make it more MMO like, but cut out so much of what makes MMO's good? No trading? No auction house? Not even a global chat?

They made almost no reason whatsoever for this to be even an online based game aside from purely playing with other people.

Another thing is that so much of what you can do isn't unlocked until later on. Most builds don't REALLY start coming to life until the 60's or so when you can really get going on the paragon board. That kind of sucks for casuals like myself who only have an hour or two a day to play. I've been playing for nearly a week and still only level 38.

There is trading, also there is a setting under the social section for turning on trade chat, it's off by default. No one really uses it though so far, even on WT3 tbh. Maybe the economy will build eventually, IDK. Saw that there's people paying $200+ for some perfect rolled items though on third party sites. You gotta get "perfect rolled ancestral yellows" to start getting anything worth while, which is WT4, and it has to be higher level like probably 95+.

What you said about builds coming to life after 60+ / paragon is true tbh. The build I'm following is on Max Roll (arc lash sorc), and thankfully it includes "how to level," including thresholds in stats and levels for when to swap your skills around and ultimately perform the end game build they designed... but I did notice there's SOME builds on there that slowly come together as you level on its own, without requiring any skill refunding or major playstyle changes. If you want one like that, see below example.

My vote is wait till Season 1. Do all the end game stuff on your first character: the statues, the renown, the experience with some of the dungeons' layouts, open world boss mechanics, try out WT4, etc. If you get bored then make an alt or take a break and wait till Season 1 for that.

One of the cool things with D4 is being able to go at your own pace and playing your way. Options like hardcore, playing with friends, min/maxing, playing casual for a few open world events and bosses, PvP ganking, nightmare dungeon climb, achievement/challenge farming, alting around. Plenty to do, and plenty to avoid as preferred.
