Other than wilful retention of NDI ... the charges suggest the main issue isn't so much Trump took classified docs by accident. It's that he knowingly hid them from the Feds. From all reports, Pence alerted the Feds immediately when he discovered the docs, which is likely why he got cleared. Trump instead played all sort of stupid games

Trump should have known that the standard practice was to smash devices and documents with hammers and to use bleach bit. THAT's the way to avoid indictment.
And isn't it funny how they are still investigating Hunter and the Biden families crimes for 6+ years, but as soon as anything that could possibly be misconstrued as a crime for trump (like a president possessing "classified" documents, when a president has ultimate declassification authority..." and they move at the speed of light to investigate and bring charges.
Is Biden going to be charged given all of the documents he was found with? Clinton? Obama? Comey? Anyone?
I suppose obama gets a pass because he was a president. But the rest didn't even have plausible deniability regarding the documents they possessed.

Robert Costa
@costareports
Learning lots of new info as of 10 p.m. ET tonight... this is a grave, serious case in the eyes of many law-enforcement sources... those who know Jack Smith say he would NEVER bring charges of this nature unless he had tons of testimony and evidence and is convinced he will win
·
According to a former federal prosecutor, proving obstruction is very difficult and to bring this charge likely means there is a lot of specific evidence in the hands of the special counsel. He is described as someone who would hesistate to bring that charge unless it was nailed.

HIGH
...
What are the Chances for a “Not Guilty” Verdict if a Federally Charged Criminal Defendant Takes the Case to Trial? Statistically not very good. Currently federal prosecutors tout above a 95% conviction rate. This is primarily due to the fact that most cases never make it to trial.

I suppose obama gets a pass because he was a president. But the rest didn't even have plausible deniability regarding the documents they possessed.
