You Ever Met Someone That Tells The Same Story Repeatedly?

And you gotta sit there and act like you’ve never heard the story before to not be rude?

My brother does this.

I tall over people and embarass them for not keeping their mind sharp enough to know if they told me this story.

F*ck them, I'm not prepared to be held conversationally hostage because they are idiots.

My buddy does this and it gets bad once a few beers and new person comes around. Its like he has the same 6 stories locked and loaded and is just dying to scream them at someone new regiardless if someone who has heard them is right there. I caught him telling me my own story once, he stopped after that red faced moment.

Just finish the story before they do OP, it will stop after you do that a few times.

My buddy does this when trying to flirt srs

He will tell a story and switch up aspects of it and I’ll just stare at him knowing full well I was there during it and half the chit he is saying really didn’t happen

So does that mean that you were actually fired for being inappropriate at work? Hmmm

Nah, my one friend does this all the time and whenever he starts I politely remind him that I've heard this one before. He's tried to tell me some of them 5 times each by now. He legitimately doesn't realize he's already told me.

There's no need to be an ass about it.

how tf are people this forgetful? My GF has done it a few times too. I cut her off and tell her she’s told me this chit before. But this old guy I know I don’t have the heart to kill his vibe like that, he gets so excited when telling the story lol

My brother was like that.

He would talk about stuff that happened like 30 years ago like it was yesterday. Never talked about stuff happening now.

he could recall conversations and stuff from so long ago it was people I didnt even remember.

Same stories over and over. Always found it odd. His wife was the same way. Like somehow I can remember stuff that happened when I was a kid.

Lot of old guys are like that. I think it's partly biological if you think about it. For most of history we didn't write anything down, it was up to the elders to keep the tales of yore in their heads. These tales passed around and for generations through word of mouth.

Yes, girl I met at university. Literally rambles on for 8-10 minutes at a time and doesn't pause or allow the other conversant to speak. Seriously, I set a stopwatch at my computer when she started talking to see how long it took for her to pause or allow me to say something.

Only ever talks about herself, and even if the topic changes sometimes just interrupts and picks up the topic of herself and her own interests again even if its a non-sequitur.

It might be autism and utterly blindness to social cues that she's boring the chit of someone.
Back off, Warchild.

Seriously.

Their minds are sharp enough to remember sh*t but not sharp enough to remember that they already told that person the story 20x.

I usually catch myself with my coworker but working together 40 hours a week will do that.

But I don’t bring up stories unless related to the conversation

I don't have 50 posts so can't link the vid, but this thread would be summed up by that Key and Peele skit where they're smoking a bong, and Keegan after a hit keeps telling the same story over and over.
