Generally not more than $40 while traveling longterm. If it's a weekend in NYC or something, like $300

Used to cost me $ 40-60 bucks a night back in the 90's to stay at cheap motels

Most I ever spent was like $600/night with my ex gf, with like a $40 per night parking fee and a $50/night resort fee lol. Extremely beautiful place along the ocean, great food around beautiful rooms / services. Rooftop pool etc. I’m a huge fan of very nice / quality hotels, willing to pay more $$ for that stuff.

For most cities, best bang for your buck for a standard hotel room is in the $250-$300/night range as they are typically a 10-15 minute walk/drive further than the best located hotels... So a little efforts saves you hundreds of dollars

This will get you a nice 3-star where you don't have to worry about a stray bullet coming through your window while you're sleeping or transients pissing in the elevator

I used to be able to find really nice rooms for under $100, now it's close to impossible. I've been getting rooms in the $100 to $150 range now to avoid roaches and that kind of thing.

I'm never up early enough for breakfast while I'm off work, so that's wasted on me. The later the checkout the better.

Ones under $100 look mid AF. I like my hotels to have gyms, pools, steam rooms and a nice room

Depends on several factors. If I'm just looking for a place to crash and I'm going to be out early the next day then anything more than $150 I'm just going to sleep in my car.

The most I ever spent was $261 ($290 after tax and pet fee) but we were in Gatlinberg, TN and it was worth it. We were on the strip but the river ran right behind us. Went tasting all the shots, came back slept and woke up and went to that pancake house place and if you know what I'm talking about... GOAT son.

i'm still used to those 90s prices my parents paid...very hard for me to pay $200+ per night knowing I wont even be in the room too much.

i kinda see travel as a big money making ripoff. i like to be the one making the money...not helping others make money off me.

I think expensive hotels are a waste if you don't plan to stay in, which I rarely do when travelling.

I think most i've paid so far was like $300 a night and that a cruise so different than just a hotel, and came with a private balcony which was dope.

When I travel I look for 3 star hotels that you enter a buidling to get to your room for around $150 per night total.

I don't like the cheap ones where your room door opens to the outside. Too many wierdos and degenerates do business there in the middle of the night.

For regular business, $300 a night. If it's for something special, like a honeymoon or a bachelor party, I'd get a penthouse and happily spend $1000.


I tend to Air BnB it though, or if I have to get a hotel I usually find a cheaper one around $80-100 a night.

If the hotel doesn’t have a balcony that overlooks the ocean, anything over $300 is too much. Also, if it doesn’t have a late 90s wall phone mounted next to the chitter, it ain’t chit.

It really depends on the experience. If it is a "normal" 4*/5* hotel, then 150 euros.

If it is "special", then thousands.

Most I've spent was $600 but it was a resort hotel for NYE week on key west. And that was heavily discounted through my work. You're not touching any resort hotel for less than $300 or so anywhere even off season.

I don't really do roach motels. I'm not a traveling salesman.

If I'm on a long drive I just pop in a rest area or truck stop and sample the local lot lizards for free.

I've literally crashed in my car because I was too stubborn to pay $120 to maybe use the room for 6-8 hours. I'm a veteran, I can do hygiene with my entire body with a package of baby wipes and a plastic water bottle. (Super Ded fkn Srs)
