I'd just build a few more solar panel systems and call it day like Elon says. There needs to be a slow transition from nonrenewable energy to clean energy. That's why it's stupid to say that electric vehicles are a scam. Maybe now they are but there needs to be a slow transition. Unaware of thorium.

The truth is we have access to energy beyond what humanity can use. We are stuck with fossil fuels because they are finite, so the powers that be can maintain artificial scarcity and control over us.

Being tethered to fossil fuels allows them to push climate b.s. so that they can eventually have us sponge bathing with water, eating bugs, and living in pods.

Net neutral Canada has carbon tax increasing consistently while saying the party is there for the poor and middle class.. applying a tax that hurts them the most. They are best friends with China who produces more GHG than the rest of the world combined. It's ok to tax us here because we are the peasants. Give free reign to the country that all the businesses have production based in though. It's a joke. Now they wanna get rid of beef and usher in the era of bug eating. I hate this planet.

Guess who is opening coal plants non stop? Guess which countries would never sanction them? The West. They'll sanction their own people with carbon tax though. They would never allow clean and free energy to exist. To think this is to believe in fairy tales.

I remember doing research on thorium based reactors as an undergrad like 15 years ago. We put together a proposal to build a thorium reactor on the moon using the regolith as the neutron reflector. The government took over the project and that was the last I ever heard about it ded fookin srs

These thorium reactors can literally burn up the waste products of conventional nuclear power plants. Also Plutonium I think... And of course the government needs their plutonium to make their big bombs.

But yeah seems this technology is getting covered up or ignored. Never hear about it on media channels besides some fringe youtube vids.

No we are "stuck" with fossil fuels because it's cheaper to pump dead dinosaurs out of the ground than it is to supply any other fuel on a massive scale.

We could easily switch our entire infrastructure over to grain based alcohol. For about double or quadruple the cost. It's cheaper to pump already composted energy than it is to grow and then compost that energy. Especially when your growing energy directly competes with your food resources.

It definitely doesn't have anything to do with big oil (Rockefellers) owning our government and the power of lobbying keeping every other tech down.

It definitely doesn't have anything to do with major break throughs quietly being bought up and immediately shelved with their inventors suiciding. Its just the free market! The invisible hand is doing it! Lmao.

I think I read an article/study sometime ago where they basically concluded that it's no longer worth trying to develop thorium reactors, maybe had they kept developing reactors more since the 70-80s it might've been but with the whole Chernobyl disaster it put a bit of a stigma on nuclear power. I think China does have some thorium reactors that are operational though but not sure on what scale.

Anyway it's now probably better to just keep scaling solar en wind power and other sustainable energy forms like that because that's where all the research went into for the last 3 decades, I do think they should build more conventional nuclear power plants as well as a source of reliable energy. We easily have the tech now to run those plants 100% safely and also store the minimal amount of waste safely for thousands if not tens of thousands of years, but again all that would take some serious investment to start up so it might also be too costly.

Who knows, maybe in 50 years we'll finally have something like nuclear fusion that can actually output more energy stably than it costs to put in. Or highly efficient solar cells n stuff like that.

The primary problem is that it is too difficult to make nukes using thorium reactors so bellicose governments just don't invest in it.
Since energy markets are so tightly regulated, thorium has no chance until globohomo collapses and loses its grip.
