people are rich because they are GENERATIONS ahead of normie wage slaves
normies who think they can get rich in 1 lifetime are delusional
the entire normie "work hard and get rich" meme is childish pipe dream

depends. most of the rags to riches story that i know personally are motivated dominant broke cats who partnered up with a wealthy beta follower type who keeps pumping money into the business until they made it.
one guy is a cock eyed fatcel but extremely smart with extremely good communication skills. he owns every single meeting i've seen him attend. people feel sorry for him i think.
anyway the company him and his partner started up is grossing 100 mil now.

know an currycel manlet.... he had a best friend working as a distribution centre manager for Canadian tire. this DC hires 500 temp workers. 3 shifts
they partnered up and started their own staffing firm. The DC manager fed all their temps thru the agency.
25 temps = 1 million revenue
500 = 20 mil revenue with 1 account
of course they expanded and got other accounts. they are doing prob 80-100 mil now a year.
both started out broke. but one had a connection

Not really. Most โold moneyโ was an insanely successful rags to riches story several generations back, with each subsequent generation being less and less impressive

This means that the two curries had to have had partnered with a bank to gaurantee their payroll while the client takes their sweet time delaying the payment of the bill.
It's not as easy as it sounds.

You pay them when Cantire pays you(a month later). btw they were sending in cash employees(brampton migrants). so there were no government burden. if they were charging 35% per employee for example, they pay 10%-15% to the third party and eat 20%.

This is a weird phenomena, where the wealthy people who were given everything, like to believe they actually had to work for it, and they need other people to believe they worked for it as well.
It is absolutely delusional. I assume it is just ego. "I deserve this"

Thatโs like saying just be Dwayne Johnson. Thereโs no formula
Thereโs more formula to being an mlb or nba player than them. At least there are specific paths.
However 1 in every 100 people are wealthy. A lot of them just started their own businesses and made it. That is a formula others can follow. Of course most fail but u have a shot
U have no shot at being Tate or playing in the nba

Any family can build generational wealth, it just takes effort for a couple of generations. Mostly it comes from one generation starting something like a company/business and then the following generation building on it.
That can also go in reverse like my family. We had generational wealth on both sides and my mother and father blew it on both sides. So I have to basically restart for my kids. My sister married wealthy so she's set.

Someone is sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago
Worrying about this for your own life experience is self-absorption, the wealthy people worth their salt are raising kids who will also continue working their asses off and contributing to the world despite being born into money. Society should and hopefully will not reward people whose intention is just to check out and stop contributing to society.

Only 21% of millionaires received any inheritance at all.
Just 16% inherited more than $100,000.
And get this: Only 3% received an inheritance at or above $1 million!2

How Many Americans Receive an Inheritance?
If 21% of millionaires inherited their money, how does that measure up against the rest of America? The Federal Reserve asked that question, and guess what their answer was . . . 21%.4
Thatโs right. Millionaires and the general population receive inheritances at the exact same rate. So, donโt miss this: Millionaires are no more likely to get an inheritance than their neighbor whoโs swimming in debt.
And if you do happen to get an inheritance, youโre probably going to have to wait a long time to get one. The average age when Americans get an inheritance is 51, and more than one-fourth of inheritances wind up going to folks over the age of 61.5 And the typical size of an inheritance these days? Itโs just around $55,000.6
So if youโre banking on an inheritance to make you a millionaire . . . youโre going to need a new plan!

OP is talking about megamogging generational wealth, trust fund kids, Lambos and Hermes, living like you're rich.
Someone not born into generational wealth usually has two paths:
-> Live frugally and build real wealth over the long term, retire a millionaire+, pass it onto family
-> Live like you're rich, not build any real wealth over the long term, have little to pass on

Define wealthy.
The most well off guy I know personally came from a working class background. He started an online forum ~25 years ago that blew up and sold for a few million, and he has had a few successful business ventures since then. I would guess his net worth to be in the high 7-low 8 figure range at ~50 years old.
I'd consider that wealthy. At that level you can have the bulk of your money in very low risk investments and easily clear $200-300k a year passively without ever touching principal.

Wealthy people don't keep CASH. you know that right? They let their children take over ownership of their company and properties while they are still alive. Dad is 80 with alzeihmers, ur really gonna wait for him to die to inherit his company? C'MON MAN. rich people are smarter than that. that survey is so low IQ it's not even funny.

that is not wealth bro. that's doing above average for sure.
10 mil is touching wealth today. the % of true wealthy people that inherited a chit is far higher.

It's nearly always made in one generation.
Whether it is tech billionaires, mining, tobacco, cotton, maufacturing, etc it has nearly always been 1 man (they were historically nearly always men) who slaughtered the locals to became king, saw a market opportunity etc
If you want to argue that most people who currently enjoy generational wealth owe that to somebody making it big during the industrial revolution (200+ years ago), that is another conversation.
The industrial revolution saw working class people send their kids to universities, marry them off to impoverished aristocrats etc and spawn a lot of what is currently regarded as high society or old money.
The problem with most threads like this is expecting average people to all achieve significantly above average results.
Wealthy people are, by definition, outliers.

In fact, the majority of millionaires didnโt even grow up around a lot of money. According to the survey, 8 out of 10 millionaires come from families at or below middle-income level. Only 2% of millionaires surveyed said they came from an upper-income family.
Besides, even if you are receiving wealth in a middle-class scenario, like your parents giving you a house or business, etc. you will likely not receive that until you are in your 40's or later. Now, if by wealth you're talking tens or hundreds of millions of dollars, then yes it's much less likely to accumulate that yourself in a single lifetime. But that's because you're arbitrarily selecting a delusional goal post for wealth. Having $1M net worth puts you in the top 2% of americans. Schwab did a modern wealthy survey last year and found that the benchmark for most to consider you wealthy in the US is $2.2M net worth. Going back to my original post, a vast majority of people have achieved that on their own.

So it's not a background check. it's a survey. 2% come from upper-income family? LMFAO who knew poverty-mediocrity is the road to millionaire status.

I ran some calculations in my earlier years. It would have taken 40 years of investments being reinvested, to build massive, untouchable unreachable wealth. Say, if you put away 10K every year and keep on doing that for at least first 20 years. Even at safe corporate rate of return in dividends, there is capital gain and inflation that adds up. 40 years, not 200. But, 40 years is sizable chunk of the most productive years in anybody's life. I was young, and did not feel this is the way to live.

He used free wordpress templates for both of them.
He then invested $20,000,000 into stocks before the last bull run.
I have no idea what he is worth now, but wouldn't be surprised if it is around 100 million.
He's in his late thirties....
and do you know what is demented....
He is still building websites. srs

And get this: Only 3% received an inheritance at or above $1 million!2

These same people call kiley Jenner a "self-made billionaire".
You'll see the criteria for "self-made" is really lax.
Like someone receiving 250k to start a business is "self-made" because they started a business. But not everybody has 250k to toss around to start a business. In fact, that's the hard part
If everybody could "buy" a business, they would, if they could all buy houses and flip them they would, etc., etc.
People just choose to be poor amiright?
Surely they'd rather work at burger King than plop down 250k for a house that turns into 400k!
When you put into that context it makes sense. There's no way people were just born into that and lost it. The point is getting to that point is the hard part
