Crazy family story: my uncle chartered 2 small planes to go to jackson hole. He didn't like something about one of the pilots, so he threw a fit and moved his wife and kids to the other plane. He stayed with the sketchy looking pilot.

The sketchy pilot didn't climb fast enough after takeoff, crashed, and killed everyone onboard including my uncle. Ded srs true story.


Also I have adifferentuncle who was in a private plane crash, but he survived with some moderate mangling. I just fly commercial.

Maintenance in any developed country is very good, also pilots go back for simulator training every 6 months for their entire careers. They are either recently out of a simulator or about to go into one.

They dont get to fly unless they pass all the procedures including emergencies.
