Boron Deficiency: Heart Attacks + Hormones + Cognitive Function

Browsing comments on this article which seemed kind of "duh", but worth a look-

^^^
Study on 5,446 post-menopausal women 63 years of age or older broken into groups based on genetic risk factors. Found that level of physical activity trumped genetics for longevity.

Came across this comment and reply:

Well okay then. I'm aware that a lack of some nutrients due to soil depletion is a problem. I did not know that boron was something worth paying that much attention to. It isn't an expensive supplement and seems like for some people it is worth bothering with.

Can proper supplementation of boron help with:

- arteriosclerosis/blockage of arteries and veins

- executive function

- hormone balance

- inflammation/arthritis

All good things to make improvements on and there are supplements for a nickle a day or less.

I hate dealing with managing a bunch of pills and don't like taking them either. But I've been sticking w/vit D + vit K + magnesium for some time. It's about $1 a day all in. Having a low vit D level = depression. Minimum healthy level I've seen most recently was 60. Used to be sub 20 and my last lab came in at 50.

Oh, and the screen shot above- tion: brilliant and also insane or super intelligent and educated troll.

A couple of tion posts just for fun-

Swear that if you could scrape her comments and make some sort of sense of her story you could write a heckuva a novel. Or at least create a great character for a William Gibson style sci-fi.

Just as Boron deficiencies lead to those problems, excessive Moron intake might lead to the same issues, just an FYI to the people reading this.

Good thing I supplement it then, I guess. One of the things I'm most religious about taking is Magnesium, which is probably far more important for that than Boron.

As far as calcification - that dunce who mentioned vitamin d forgot to mention Vitamin K2 MK7 (or he's ignorant). That's the important thing for shuttling calcium to the proper places.

that is why the government banned it for human consumption in the 60s.

it cures arthritis and osteoporosis (stops the calcification (hardening) of cysts in bone sockets that wear out the joints). it also helps against tooth decay and weakened bones later in life.

i ordered a kg a few years back from the US. take it every few days

also makes your wood hard like steel due to the improved blood circulation

Some natural test booster include Boron now, wasnt aware of the benefits.

Most of natty test boosters are trash but a few got decent proven ingredients that at least should provide a mild boost.

Yes. I'm taking D w/K2 + magnesium. Though that is relatively recent. I did one of those heart calcium things a couple of years ago and was told everything looks great- like a younger person. So there is that.

I've heard this. Where do you get it?

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4712861/
After only 1 week of boron supplementation of 6 mg/d, a further study by Naghii et al20 of healthy males (n = 8) found (1) a significant increase in free testosterone, which rose from an average of 11.83 pg/mL to 15.18 pg/mL; and (2) significant decreases in E2, which dropped from 42.33 pg/mL to 25.81 pg/mL. All of the inflammatory biomarkers that were measured also decreased: (1) interleukin (IL) 6, from 1.55 pg/mL to 0.87 pg/mL; (2) high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) by approximately 50%, a remarkable decrease, from 1460 ng/mL to 795 ng/mL; and (3) tumor necrosis factor α (TNF-α) by approximately 30%, from 12.32 to 9.97 pg/mL. Levels of dihydrotestosterone, cortisol, and vitamin D increased slightly.
Human requirements for boron remain undefined. The only guideline is a tolerable UL, which for adults aged 18 years or older is approximately 20 mg/d.132 The current author hopes that increasing knowledge about boron’s diverse biological functions will promote recognition of the importance of specifying what constitutes adequate, and, even possibly, a consideration of what might be optimal boron intake. Although it has been suggested that humans need at least 0.2 mg/d of boron and that the diet should contain approximately 1 to 2 mg/d of boron, numerous papers indicate that the standard American diet does not do so, and boron’s beneficial effects on bone,133 sex steroids,20 and vitamin D26 do not appear at boron intakes of less than 3 mg/d. All the human studies showing beneficial effects for boron supplementation discussed in this review used supplemental boron at a dose of greater than or equal to 3 mg/d. Studies of residents in boron-rich areas of the world indicated that 3 mg/d is a conservative amount that would produce benefits with a very remote risk of adverse effects. For example, in Turkey, daily boron intake for workers in a boric acid production plant averaged 12.6 mg/d, with no adverse effects.134,135

Cool.

And on comments- sometimes you find neat things. There was another person who said they are managing their MS w/a non mainstream program.

Besides the vit D calcium thing it is supposed to help with skin elasticity and bruising. Maybe I've got fewer bruises? Hard to quantify.

One link I hit showed the best source as prune juice. No thanks.

There are several options on Amazon. Probably other supplement places too.

But maybe not in the UK/EU? Not sure on that.

Not a big fan, but definitely easy to find for most people.

Just watched the video. Impressive looking study. Saw real changes in lab levels with only 7 days of supplementation.

I prefer patented or trademarked ingredients just for slightly more quality assurance, might not make a big difference in the end results if using legit ingredients.

I have a lot of inflammation issues so could be worth a shot for me, it isn't too expensive anyway.
