I feel like there's a key word missing in that headline.

It rhymes with 'fee-legal'.

Can someone tell me exactly how a plane can hear supposed knocking under water? What tech is picking that up that a ship doesn't have?

Perhaps read the article, They dropped sonar into the water.. better sonar was used 4 hours later and confirmed exactly what the plane heard.

For anyone that is interested, This is an interview with Morgan, 3 people all able to give credible information. The one guy was stuck in the titanics wreck for over an hour, You can kind of understand how easy it would be..

Thanks boyo.

Aware of ships having towed array sonar etc.

Was just the fact they said plane that threw me. I'm picturing a plane with a towed array sonar hanging from it dangling into the water.

Didn't have time to read the article, need to read all the classic misc responses first.

What was the reasoning for being barefoot in the vessel?

Worried someone would step on the controller?

Proximity sensors are neither expensive nor complicated, and even if it breaks so what? It would only make the sub as unsafe as it is now. They're getting 250k per ticket and he's a billionaire, you're saying a couple of sensors is out of budget?
No, the reality is he's a clown who doesn't know wtf he is doing. Being rich doesn't make him knowledgeable. If I had unlimited money I could cobble together a bunch of Zoomers to build me a plane, doesn't mean it's going to be remotely safe. Although at least with a plane there are standards that have to be met

that's the point though - apparently the people willing to go down in it don't care about having extra sensors and whatnot. If they don't work at predive checkin it cancels the trip, then he has to issue refunds.

I genuinely don't give a chit if no one remembers my name after I am gone, srs. My life is only important to me when I am alive. When I'm gone, then I'm gone. This autistic narcissistic desire to be remembered by literal whos is just as meaningless as the legacy they shall leave behind.

These same people believe in science. Well, according to science: entropy will devour all in a googol number of years. 5 billion years from now there won't be any humanity, so no one will remember even the wisest or greatest of men. Everything you fought for, everything you strove for will be as the cosmic dust.

Eventually, even time itself will have no meaning. Inspite of this I am not depressed. By then, we'll all be living in the New Kingdom with Christ for all of eternity. Amen.

I'm pretty sure the billionaire is not the guy who built/owns/operates the sub which is why he's a cheapskate when it comes to parts. The billionaire is one of the other passengers

Years ago I used to go to Snopes for accurate information. I can't believe just how left wing that site is. It's a fkin parody of itself these days. I heard it's run by some cuck who has a porn star wife but idk if that's true

this is a pretty decent read on him - very interesting background

https://www.msn.com/en-us/travel/new...ne/ar-AA1cOYoS

my favorite quote, and I agree with him on this though I am not an explorer for this reason:

"Perhaps most revealingly of all, he added: “You know, at some point, safety just is pure waste. I mean, if you just want to be safe, don’t get out of bed. Don’t get in your car. Don’t do anything.”"

All you guys criticizing the choice of the controller utilized to understand- When choosing the controller, connectivity with the sub’s systems were key.

I just don't get how anyone would get on this thing without some kind of rescue plan on standby. Literally nothing to help you if anything happens once you leave the main ship and everyone was cool with that wtf

Coastguard press conference is live right now:

- Sub has still not been located

- No conclusive evidence the banging sounds were made by the sub crew

- The acoustic tapes are still being analyzed

- In total 10 ships with ROV's, tethers, cranes equipped with winches will be on the site by tomorrow morning

- If they are alive they have less than 16 hours of O2 left

The sounds recorded by dropping sonar buoys are here -

Not sure how legit tho.

And why tf does this poverty sub not have some kind of automated crash avoidance system? A vast array of sensors which will stop the sub in its tracks if it senses an object (like titanic propeller) too close by? A Tesla has that FFS
External sensors and control surfaces are hard on surface, this is at 12,000ft under 6000psi of pressure.
