New Starfield info

This game is going to slap.

Cliffs: Todd Howard says this game will be a modders paradise. Potential revenue share for modders as well.

Plantets: landscapes are procedurally generated, but individual locations on the planets are hand crafted. More handcrafted areas than any game Bethesda has ever made.

Spaceship building is incredibly detailed and very deep geared towards late game and incredibly complex. Same with base building.

30fps: 60 fps wasn't considered for a focus on hyper detail. Some guys who worked on doom came on board to help with world details or something

Companions: major part of the game, but you can also play solo without them. They react to your choices and can become angry with you etc.

Post release: tons of dlc and story additions planned

Dialogue and lore: this game has more Dialogue then skyrim and fallout 4 combined, with lore to explain some of the science behind things in the game.

"One of the main goals of Starfield is to always say yes when a player asks if I can do this"

Enemies can land on your planet, attack. You can enter their ships and they can fly into space while you're still on board.

I think that's about it for that video. I guess Todd Howard revealed some more details on some recent podcasts

I still love good ol jackfrags. He doesn't deal with too much fluff and makes good content. I used to love watching him and his crew play random shooter games, he's still a good source for some gaming news from time to time.

I always think it's pretty incredible someone like him can make it so big on the content creation side of gaming without ever doing a face cam.

60 fps mode definitely should have been considered. They are obsessing over intricate details that largely dont even matter.

FF16 had an insane amount detail in some areas, which really didn't need it. I tried to play FF16 in fidelity mode and i really just couldn't do it. The hit in resolution and clarity is absolutely acceptable to get high frame rates, even if it isn't locked at 60.

Devs need to let go of this obsession over hyper details and just focus on delivering a good experience.

I agree. I don't see why at least space flight couldn't be 60fps, I can understand the planets being tough to render all that stuff, but in space? Shouldnt be as bad.

They said it renders in 4k on the Xbox series x and 1440p on the series s.

Should have just had a 1440p/60 option for xsx

It’s upscaling to 4k on series x, from a base of around 1440p. Using fsr 2 I believe. Digital foundry had a good video on Starfield discussing things

This makes alot more sense, I really didn't think it was native 4k and was kind surprised to hear that when jackfrags said it. He left that part out ofc.

They already do this in FO4 and Skyrim. The mods they bring into the official store are basic as fuk and not worth buying over another free option off nexus.

Fair enough, but at least it's an avenue to give people the revenue they deserve for their work.

2 things I want to do in this game
Make my ship look like a mini star destroyer.

Finally fulfill my life long dream of becoming a space trucker.
