As many of you know I’m in sales. The absolute hardest part for me is maintaining a positive mindset. Some days I’ll be ready to go and just an absolute weapon, but other days I just can’t muster up the energy to smile and be cheerful and friendly.

After I make the first sale of the day the dopamine hits and the second one comes 10x easier. But if it’s late in the day and I haven’t had a sale it’s pretty tough.

How do you get into a better headspace on the days you’re not “feeling it”? And how do I stay in the right headspace consistently?

I’m doing damn good but I know I have the potential to do even better, I just need to perfect the mental aspect.

Simple, don’t do door to door B2C sales lol

It’s easy when you know you’re gonna smash your 10/10 hbb gf later that day.

It’s not the best, but hey, there’s worse things I could be doing for less money. And I’m on track to hit 100k at 24yo so that ain’t too shabby.

Remember why you started

Is the job meaningful or satisfying besides income?

I don’t think I need to sustain it any longer than that to get a better sales job. If you can be successful at D2D you can pretty much kill it in any sales job.

This. You either get one of those, or accept that work isn’t necessarily enjoyable, and being on the clock doesn’t obligate you to feel good inside.

That said, it’s preferable to do something you get some value out of beyond the money. Some would go as far as to say you’ll have a hard time being happy if you don’t. Focus on the why.

If you’re in a rough job and need to grind through, keep your reasons on your mind. Have reminders of them around.

How old are you?

Don’t work in sales, if you have your heart set on a sales job (cause high commission potential) go into software or finance side sales.

Don’t be a car salesman or solar panel salesman or electrical appliance salesman etc.

I’m 24. The best thing about sales is I only do like two hours of actual “work” a day. Don’t think I could get away with that in any other job.

Yeah I would get into another sales job as soon as you can, it’ll be more enjoyable and you won’t have to work on staying positive

Sales is goat in terms of uncapped income due to commissions and generally no college/university degree required.

Not many jobs offer the opportunity to get paid for how hard you work.

Been in sales for 12 years, sales manager at my work now. I actually enjoy work.

Most office jobs you do maybe an hour of work in the morning and then another hour total all day and the rest of the time is misc or movies at home. I’ve done nothing all day and I’m about to go on lunch now for 2 hours.

Do you have a degree? If you want an office job go into some type of non door to door sales selling stuff over the phone like financial products (pretty sure that not bad not brad guy does finance sales).

Use your D2D experience and take notes of big sales you make to use in interviews for office/WFH sales jobs.

One of my friends did D2D sales for solar energy, then got into sales at a finance company and loves it.
