Lower rates of myocarditis from them in young men and it's not even close. And the more options the better. Plenty of deserved hype around the Novavax early on, but by the time it was approved for the US the pandemic was over and we were several variants later.

This was always the end game w/ these vaccines, from when they were originally began decades back -- I wouldn't let the Lockdown or Warp Speeded covid vaccines make anyone disregard these. While they (covid) were mostly an ineffective flop with covid, they (mRNA in general) were always hoped to work with cancer and with time and proper testing, I hope they are able to make progress here.

The problem with the covid mRNA vaccines: not tested long enough, not even tested to see if they slowed spreading, greed and Government overreach with mandates and coercion. Remove all those negatives and this is a potential new treatment that many people have had a lot of faith in for well over 20 years, I forget the exact timelines, but a long, long time.

AIDS is not something I am concerned about. I do not do drugs, I neither have intercourse outside of marriage nor with any men. The odds of a mistake with blood transfusions is the only significant threat and those odds are low enough I do not consider AIDS a personal threat.

All really promising stuff. And this is what the technology should be used for in the first place.

But I'm also a cynic when it comes to pharma trying to bury it. That being said, electric cars got buried two decades ago and now they are full bore. Eventually you can't deny the technology that exists.

Unfortunately, in this specific case with these vaccines, a lot of money was spent my big Pharma to intentionally buy off friendly media and spread misinformation about them. So in this case, it is both new and scandalous they were not tested to see if they stopped transmission or 'the spread'.

To test transmission, you'd have to do a challenge trial.

Outrage that it wasn't done for covid vaccines, but no outrage that it wasn't done for the other vaccines many/most say they are okay with in the "not anti vaccine, just anti-covid vaccine" circles.

What about my outrage that the covid vaccines, which were not tested for transmission, were willfully and knowingly mislead and outright lied about in regards to this, being sold as stopping transmission by media puppets paid-off by Pfizer and other pharm companies?

Would you say that specific form of outrage regarding these vaccines has any level of justification behind it?

I've said a few times, chitty communication by politicians and media have set back public trust in medicine, public health, and science that will take ages to re-gain.

It's possible to believe that pharmaceutical corporations are greedy profiteers that foster global health inequity and that the vaccines were helpful - at the same time.

It wasn’t just the media and politicians. Plenty of doctors and other healthcare professionals lied about the effectiveness of of the injections with regards to both prevention of infection and prevention of spread.

A lot of that was not lies. You guys just didn't get the context and are now cherry picking quotes out of context in reference to different variants or disclosed at different times.

Don't bother. These morons forget that the original mRNA vaccines were extremely effective against the OG covid, and excellent against delta. Then by the time we got to omicron they were less effective. This is the moment all these geniuses patted themselves on the back and claimed they were right all along - the vaccines didn't work. Complete and utter nonsense.
