Do you think it's better to do it in a big city or a big suburb?

Cities have the advantage of proximity, but people tend to forget that in cities many people are transient (they move after a couple years). They may also tend to be more superficial since there are more options.

Thoughts?

Probably get a good social circle going out on the ocean on a boat, trying a heavy stone to your legs and jumping in.

I don't believe in arbitrary timelines like this. Some people achieve things very early on in life, others do it later, it doesn't matter. Defeatist mindset.

Get married and look for couple friends, srs.

If you arent going the married route, stay in the city. Suburbs basically exist to raise children... people don't move to them looking for friends, and there are few places to meet them. Where the fuk do you even do it? At the strip mall? At the grocery store? At the office park you don't work at?

Rural is actually better than suburbs, srs. It's just as hard to meet people, but some of those places still have a sense of community. Cities and suburbs especially have had that beaten out of them.

I mean they're not wrong. It's hard to say it's not defeatist mindset it's just that most people in their 30's are married, and have kids and have their own thing going on so you have to respect that.

Being social what do you mean? Being at the bar? Going out to hikes? You have to establish a social circle by your 20's this is just me. I'm 35, and have probably 3 people I call my best friends they all have wives except 1 which lives in a different state. We have a group chat that we always send memes to each other.

In conclusion, Don't be surprised if your social circle in your 30's ignore your texts to hang out, because they have a family. That's life.
