It has been a really long time since I watched the video and made the thread. I don't believe that the idea was that "all symbols are bad". It was that symbols are/were a sort of kludge for practitioners as they are not able to directly and effortlessly manifest [aka: create].

I did recently happen on to an interview of a woman who was saying something about the English language being the software/programming for us. I didn't find it completely coherent and I wasn't paying close attention so I ditched it after maybe 20 minutes. Seemed like maybe an offshoot of neurolinguistic programming.

I'm inclined to agree, however the uncanny synchronicity of some events I have personally witnessed cannot be explained by mere coincidence. I'm not in a position to debate this at the moment. Just saying.

Well there are a couple of things to consider about that.

From the sciences I've come across a few physicists/cosmologists who became deists of some flavor due to what they found in their studies. There is the intelligent design story and the human lack of true perception story [that humans would have evolved to perceive reality in the way which keeps us alive/reproducing, not the most complete/real way].

Then from the humanities there is the way that stories [narratives, memes, etc.] shape humanity. Written about by this guy for one.

So if there are a large number of humans who believe in a particular story and they are acting in the world in a way that is congruent with their POV then that will effect non-believers too because you don't have to believe to be fed by a group of Methodist disaster relief volunteers, or blown up by a jihadist.

Most religions depend on faith and claim that the truth can't be known in this lifetime either way.

Faith is inherently nuts. Brb believe chit with zero evidence because I want it to be true. OK Katya, I have faith you want to have sex with me. Should I just act on my faith then? Retarded.

Yea and that's why we kill jihadis. And take the methodists' food and then tell them to fuk off. Ez.

Most (All) religions are retarded.

That's not how it works though. I mean I can't speak for everyone by any means, but the idea of seeking something isn't like ordering off a menu...gimme a #5 combo bro.

If you instead had a sincere intention to find a partner then you could change how you act [going places, speaking to people] and how you interpret events and the people you encounter [more open to a positive outcome]. You might find a relationship someplace you never expected to, or with a person that you might not have considered before.

E.g. you want a dining room table and chairs, but you want a certain type/style, or you have some sort of limitation [time, money, location]. Your desire for the table and chairs could cause you to put more effort into finding what you want [furniture stores, online retailers, thrift shops, FB marketplace, etc.] and by putting your intention into action you could create the opportunity to purchase something that is perfect, or at least close enough because it meets your most important criteria.

Really I only hopped back on because of this.

I was in bed and remembered I didn't do the puzzle yet today. I don't use the same word every time. I prefer to use whatever word comes to me in the moment.

This was a first. And what are the odds that this happened just after posting in a thread about the unseen and things we can't explain?

Maybe you can do the math on that one.

Subbing to read through this tomorrow. I'm not even sure what you're talking about, Katia, regarding the puzzle and everything you said after. Maybe it will make since if I don't just skim the thread

It's a bit more complicated since not all strings of letters are words, and it depends which are allowed by Wordle's bank. But I'd estimate just to get it right first guess is around 1/13000. That is what I am seeing is the size of Wordle's bank of common 5 letter words. That is rare, but not some divine miracle. You are always posting conspiracy chit and about the unseen and unexplained tho.

Rare events happen. What are the odds you exist? What are the odds you'd have the license plate you have? Etc.

The tarot deck consists of 78 cards. Of those 78 cards, 22 form the major arcana, while 56 cards form the lesser arcana. The major arcana consists of cards such as The Devil, The Hanged Man, The Hermit (depicted on Led Zepplin's Stairway To Heaven album) and etc.

Borrowing an explanation from a more erudite student:

"While the Minor Arcana cards focus on the everyday actions and decisions you must face, these Major Arcana cards reveal messages about the bigger picture of your life and its long-term direction.

Though each of the Major Arcana cards stands alone with its own deep meanings and influences, these 22 Tarot cards also tell a united story. The first card, The Fool, is the main character of this story, and his experiences as he learns, grows, and makes his way through life are represented by the 21 cards that follow. This storyline is a great description of the accomplishments, setbacks, and lessons we all learn as we go through the trials and tribulations of our lifetime, growing into whole, complete beings by the end of our journey."

I would not call myself a student of the Tarot, neither do I practice any manner of divination. I am also inclined to believe that meaning derived from the lay of the deck in any reading is similar to a horoscope, or the results of a roll in the I Ching: it's taking a general possibility that exists as an abstract and giving it footing by manipulating it to fit one's personal narrative. That said, I have on occasion sought the Tarot's wisdom.

While more studious practitioners have elaborate lays for their readings (e.g., the celtic cross spread; the golden dawn spread, etc) I couldn't be troubled to use such elaborate, perhaps convoluted lays and simply used a three card spread. One card to represent the past; one card to represent the present; and one to represent the future.

Establishing the above, let's consider my ownfar too accurate to be mere coincidenceexperience on one occasion while using the Tarot deck.

During a period of unemployment while living in Seattle, I considered returning to the tower erection industry. It was something I had experience with, though my desire for the work was waning. Nonetheless, I had reached out to a company located in Texas that was offering me a position on a crew doing a project in Minnesota. The offer was set, and the company made plans to fly me to Texas for their company orientation before flying me to Minnesota to begin work. All I needed to do was show up to the airport on the day of departure. Though I had secured the position, I was not fully convinced that leaving Seattle was a wise choice. This would have been during the mid to late 90s, before it became the cesspool of needles, bums, and high rent that it is now.

So I called up a friend that had a Tarot deck and a bowl to share, using the visit as an opportunity to say farewell to my bro and kind of hoping he'd ask me what the f'ck I was thinking, and convince me to stay. He did not, but he shared a bowl and let me use a deck he hadn't used in a while.

I shuffled the deck well and good, and asked the deck "should I take this tower job in Texas", then proceeded with my sophomoric, simplistic three card spread. I cannot recall which cards fell in either the past or present spots, but I'll never forget that of 78 cards, and only 22 being from the major arcana, it wasThe Towercard that fell in the future position of the spread. Given my lack of familiarity with the significance of the cards, I took that as a clear indication that working for the tower company in Minnesota was in my future.

What I did not know in the moment though was how much more accurate the revelation was. You see, the tower card in the tarot deck is often depicted with two men falling from a tower.

What I didn't know until after arriving in Minnesota is that the jobsite I would be working on, where we were installing more sturdy cross-braces to an existing tower to allow it to support a heavier antenna, was the site known asThe Telefarm Towers, which were built sometime in the 70s to replace a tower that collapsed before completion in 1971.An accident that saw the lives of six men on the tower meet their demise - from falling. Had I known the breadth of the reveal of the tower card in my spread I likely would not have flown to Minnesota. For your consideration, a view of the Telefarm Towers:

Dear reader, I do ask your forgiveness for insisting you read such a long post, but offer me your critical gaze in solving this mystery in which I cannot accept coincidence as an answer. What are the numerical odds that one card of 78, randomly placed in some trivial spread, could reveal such an accurate truth, so much so that its revelation could be seen as divine?

Ok that is pretty weird. But the thing is, the revelation is after the fact. Back in the 70's, worker safety laws were absolute trash. It wasn't that rare for there to have been an accident. And I mean most construction sites have had some kind of accisent or problem at least once over the course of their lives. The thing is you can easily construct such a story post hoc to tie the stuff together. There will always be people for whom such stories eerily match their daily lives. It does not mean Tarot is inherently predictive.

In order to really tell, we'd need to do some kind of blinded experiment on a large number of people and see if the Tarot cards are predictive.

I accept all of this as I, like yourself, am suspicious of any claims of divination. However, the crux of your critic is on the accident. That is an aside to the main curiosity that is the "future" card in my spread would be the exact card relative to my query.

Should I work on the tower, well here's the tower card. Just seems too accurate.

I'll admit it seems weird, but coincidences happen. We'd need to test a large number to discern if there is any predictive power.

Assuming you have not yet, I would invite you to consider the works of the Rosicrucians. Not the modern, money grabbing sect of San Jose, but rather those of its early origins. Namely, the allegory known as the chemical wedding of Christian Rosencruetz. It is a tale woven with alchemical symbolism representing a man's ascendance to a divine relationship with God. A gnostic approach if you will.

I've run into too many things which seem too specific to be merely coincidence in astrology and more recently tarot. And it has been these little mysteries that increased my engagement. The handful of people I have found that I like to follow all insist on free will and also something that sounds like predestination which is confusing, but is also shared by many faiths.

General astrology [not calculated for any particular individual] is like a weather forecast. It isn't a prediction of the future so much as an attempt at identifying the likely effects to be expected from a given alignment of the planets. ATM there are several up about the movement of the north and south nodes into new signs. The nodes have been in Taurus and Scorpio and they are moving into Aries and Libra. The nodes spend 18 months in a set of signs and the cycle takes 18 yers to repeat. Astrologers suggest that you consider what your life was like 18 years ago as those events may reflect on what to expect for the next 18 months- not that it will be the same, just that it could be similar, though likely a little easier this time. It's space vibes.

The Tower also signifies a sudden change and taking a leap of faith. No intentional study, I've just picked up some stuff here and there.

When you understand original sin and the fallibility of man, satanism or whatever spooky occult stuff looks like one big giant narcissistic effeminate hissy fit of refusing to accept God has control and he can turn the car around and take you home any time he wants

Maybe. I guess some people include astrology and/or tarot and some don't.

Those two which might get lumped in to "new age spirituality" are not about exerting control, or at least not specifically IME. The general model sounds like- you are a spiritual being having a physical experience, you chose this life or karma lead you to this life, you are meant to play a certain part and to learn certain things while you are here.

Some people see it as being in opposition to the traditional deistic religions and some don't. Sort of like some see Buddhism as a philosophical practice not in conflict with Christianity while others will point at Buddhism as idolatry.

So how am I able to use all this to my advantage without siding with evil or at least maintaining neutrality?

Sure not really sure where to start.

Do you understand what I mean by the “degree of separation”?

At what point does up become up and down become down?

At what point do two opposites separate?

We All draw that line (degree of separation)
Where ever we please.

The real occult will try to make you believe there is no line of separation.

The precedence that gives this sentiment merit is the story of John Dee, who ruined his livelihood in the pursuit of occult wisdom by following the ruse of the charlatan Edward Kelley, whom claimed angelic wisdom could be revealed through the enochian alphabet.

However, we can also find reason to dismiss the supposed separation by considering the poetic musings of Emmanual Swedenborg, where curiosity in occultic, mystical knowledge bore fruit steeped in Christian mythos.

We should acknowledge that the word occult has a negative connotation before we proceed to examine it. We should also admit that it is an archaic form of viewing the world that originates from an era where religion was significantly more relevant than it is in today's world.

brb, I'm going to touch some grass and regroup now that I'm referring to authors out of context.

Um...not sure?

Is this a reference to "as above, so below/as within, so without" or the idea that instead of duality [masculine and feminine] that the two are one? Like the weird statue of a figure with boobs + a penis? Which is quite a leap from the idea that a person can have both types of energy, but that one is dominant [a woman can be brave, a man can be nurturing]?
