Ask a dude making a mixed cassette tape from youtube anything
I bought a new cassette deck for my stereo so I can make mix tapes from my collection of cd's and vinyl records.
along with from youtube and streaming services...
I just want to be able to listen to music how I want, especially skipping useing all the computers and advertiements,,,,just pop in a tape of what I want and push play.
I like to buy CD's or Vinyl when I can, but physical media has become a cash grab and streaming sucks too, its just time your stuck messing with computers or phone , advertisements always.
even if you pay for a subscription they all don't have what you want so you bounce around wasting time on sucking in more adverts....
I just want to pop a cassette of music I selected....a playlist is not the same.

You only wish you born in 1995 son, you will never know the feeling of being the coolest kid in class because you had a walkman, I know because I stole one from some kid and used it everyday on the bus.

Jokes on you, I was born in 1977 and lived every format, LP's, 8 track, cassettes,VHS,Laserdisk, betamax. CD's, now USB and stream...
used to make cassette tapes all the time back in the 80's and 90's....had some nice hot recording of my dads old zepplin records for the car....
The golden years of the cassette tape are right now, being able to grab anything almost in good quality for free aslong as you suffer the advertisement once.
but I just hate the control over music now.....its not the same as making a mix tape and listening on your time...

cassettes are not gonna beat CD's and hires streaming, but it is good enough quality to compete with a non subscription spotify mp3's....but then I'm useing some nice equipment also figure in the cost
especially with good blank type 2 tapes and good equipment....granted my setup is very much audiophile.
but I don't think the conviennce of streaming is there,,,,they got hooked on adverts and its not really user friendly anymore..never was...the control...the passive listening letting the AI choose your music for you.
A mixtape puts you in control more so than a playlist.

Based AF.
I never quit using cassette, although I never had as many as I have in 8 tracks. I have I'd guess around 200 8 tracks. 8 track was always kind of a pain to record on compared to cassette.
One thing I want to do is set up a low power AM station for music and hook it up to an MP3 player. It's hard to find music on AM now and I'm far from finished collecting and restoring tube radios.

I've thought about getting one of those home based FM mini transmitters and boost it up a little or put it high up...I live on an island with one small town,,,we only have 1 radio station coming over from maui and its **** talk public radio....I could reach most of the island with a small system here .
