Fun thread, great pics, but still prefer 90s-era nostalgia.

Anyone remember when the N64 dropped? That miraculous shift to 3D. Legendary. So much excitement. Staying up all night playing Ocarina of Time and Goldeneye 64 with friends.

I couldn't believe my eyes when they started running the N64 ads showing the 3D graphics of Super Mario 64, and I remember my brothers and I being so nervous about asking for it for Christmas since $129.99 or whatever it was seemed like an absurd amount of money to us as little kids.

My parents couldn't afford an N64 when I was a kid so they tried their best and actually rented the N64 for us over Christmas break when it dropped. I remember that winter break really well and how magical those games were. You put it well - absolutely mind blowing. There were many nights spent in our family room, Christmas tree alight, snow falling outside, eating Christmas log cake and playing Mario Kart 64 together.

I'm older than most of you, so this stuff doesn't hit my nostalgia spots like you. Post 90s stuff and it would though. I remember a lot of this, but I was an adult already.

Op just a gossip magazine at this point lmao- wtf do I care about celebs for?

Yes we get it, we all miss our youth. Just like every single generation before ours lol.

Ever read some YouTube comments of some 80s band? Every 50 year old saying kids today donโ€™t understand how they had it the best everything changed etc etc

I was lying on the grass on Sunday morning of last week
Indulging in my self-defeat
My mind was thugged all laced and bugged all twisted wrong and beat
Uncomfortable in three feet deep
Now the fuzzy stare from not being there on a confusing morning week
Impaired my tribal lunar-speak

The Ben Folds version of this song always makes me LOL. Always jarring to hear a soft-spoken white guy sing something like that.

I once sang an acoustic rendition of "straight out of compton" at a gig I did as a young guy. The coke dealer of the biker bar I played at was black and he loved it.

Simpler times. Imagine a blue-eyed white cracka ass muhfuka singing this nowadays and being recorded and put online. My tour would be over.

Bought an N64 with my money saved from moving sprinkler pipe in the summer. Got outfitted with 4 controllers and used to have parties with my buddies playing 4 player Goldeneye. It was the best, man.

I spent a whole summer with this game, playing all 162 games in season mode. I hit 100 HR with my fav player, Mike Piazza

Das it mane. I remember raking leaves for 7$ a hour in my neighborhood to buy Ocarina of Time lol. I had rented it, had started a game, made it to adult link, and had to return it. so, I wanted to buy that cartridge since the game was physically saved on it. Funny how kids now just have saves on a hard drive and can access them anywhere. The ease of access of tech now is insane. Remember missing an episode of your favorite show? Schit felt hopeless. You'll never see it again.
