I still remember Gamecube and Xbox came out in the same week. Gamecube sold out almost instantly but Xbox sold like **** and was carried by Halo for the first like 3 years.

I remember even one game shop in my area had a deal on an Xbox console and two games for like $40 off. Even then they had a hard time selling them. Like 2 months later and they still hadn't sold out their first shipment, lmao.

The first 2 years of that decade weren't so bad. A lot of the 1990s greatness still lingered.

In 2002, the decline began; and by 2005, everything sucked (and hasn't recovered since)

Thank god for all the progress that we have made since these times.

I for one am glad that we left the backwards and oppressive 90s/00s and now live in a world where trannies can twerk in front of children in broad daylight. Ughhh, remember when that was seen as weird and creepy? I just LOVE the fact that kids are being raised on TikTok and porn. SO progressive!

Who needs the optimism and joy from those decades? We have Pride to celebrate! We have rich people to hate! Fuk yeah!

2000 to 2020 didn't seem to change a whole lot in 2 decades, but 1980 to 2000 seem like worlds apart.

80's kid checking in.

Cell phones and the internet changed everything.

It was around 1998 that the world changed, and really started going to chit.

Summer 1982 to summer 1998 were really the pinnacle years, with the prime being 1985-1991.

I might get hate for this, but no chits given: 1998-2008 was a chit period in US pop culture.

It's when the Jews really took over, and the government radicalized(post 9/11).

Slootiness started to get accepted during this time, and even celebrated. Before that, it was incredibly frowned upon to be a sloot.

Fat acceptance started becoming a thing in the early 2000s as well.

We are almost as far removed from Austin Powers (1997) as he was from 1967 in the movie.

I was in my 20's but I feel bad for younger people that didn't get to experience the 90's/00's as an adult. Things even smelled better back then. It was amazing.

I'm not someone who is into following celebrities' lives much at all, but I still can't believe Brad Pitt left Jennifer Aniston for nutjob Angelie Jolie, and it seems to me that Britney never got over her break-up with Justin and has been downhill ever since.
