Top Gun Maverick (2022)

Just watched it, better than I expected - love they copied the original intro.

I watched the first Top Gun for the first time right around the time Maverick was coming out. Wasn't really that impressed. Loved Maverick, though.

As a pilot I gotta admit.

Didn't see the movie yet. Not even the first one.

Might be one of the rare cases where this movie is better than the original.

Wish I had watched it in the theater. Movies are so terrible nowadays I rarely go.

I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would. A great sequel - such a rarity sadly.

Comparing the intro of the original 1986 to this one:

Saw it in the theatre, the first one is decent but Maverick was a lot better. The only movie Iโ€™ve seen in theatres in like 12 years and it was worth it.

Agreed. At this point itโ€™s better than the original to me. It delivered better than I ever expected in every way. They mixed so many similarities from the original in without just straight up copying it where it was fresh and new, but still took you back to the original in an awesome way. The Lady Gaga song was great too.

I've found I really enjoy going by myself for a matinรฉe. ~$5 tickets. Don't need to keep up with the joneses and buy your girl a $40 popcorn and drink. Just sit back and enjoy a movie.

Also AMC/Cinemark have to be a front for drugs at this point because all the theaters are COMPLETELY empty regardless of matinee or prime time. There is no way in heck theyre making a profit with those tens of thousands sqft. Gen Z legit does not leave the house.

Covid destroyed it all. Prior to that any time I went there were always plenty of people in there. Packed most time. Now itโ€™s a rarity to see more than 10-15 people max in there now. Sad.

Zombie corporation. I've noticed this as well, however some theaters are keeping chit together with package deals or something as last time I went for a repair the place was fukking packed, uncomfortably packed and wasn't a premier but a Tuesday afternoon. Wasn't AMC or Cinemark, maybe the independents aren't run by morons.

What if Tom Cruise came up to you and sang in front of you?

He's confident enough to sing.

Liked it but no way it was better than the first one. The supporting cast sucked in the second. First one you had Anthony Edwards, Tom Skerrit, Meg Ryan, & Kilmer could talk.

Better music in the first as well, & storyline.

I agree! I was at the edge of my seat the entire movie! I went alone at 11pm at night and literally had the whole theater to myself lol.

Another awesome T Cruise movie. And they kept it real with no wokeness.

Now watch Maverick be a gay black female next time.
