Why does the leftist media hate Sound of Freedom so much?

Went and saw it last night. Very powerful and disturbing movie. It makes you want to hurt people very, very bad.

I am unsure how ANYONE could be against the message that child trafficking is absolutely horrific. Yet somehow weโ€™re getting headlines like this:






The only possible conclusion I can come to is:

It's all part of the political polarization. You see the right wing being more vocal about those issues regardless of all the CT stuff that gets dumped in between. So the left media will see it as a movie for the "opposite team" and of course they will have to trash it.

The movie does profit on the whole CT paedo thing, it's been a massive commercial hit and it already tripled the investment made by the producers.

To be honest, this is one of many times where I like to point out that the left is not a monolith. I read that Guardian article out of curiosity and even with my very lefty lens, I had trouble understanding that needlessly pedantic word salad as to why they're chitting on it. The best I can tell is that they're mad that Jim Caviezel is involved who has some controversial takes (to the left), that the film seems to be funded by some possibly right-wing dark money and that there are some "dogwhistles" to certain far right extremist views. I personally think it's a stretch, and them rushing to condemn the movie without clear grounds to object on, you run the risk of detractors like yourself saying what you said "do they disagree with trying to crackdown on child trafficking?" Even if the libs are right about all of those points, they did more damage themselves by polarizing the right with that easy line of attack.

Let me clear: I do not support child trafficking, and neither does the left in general, as any reasonable human does not. There are so many more tangible things for the left to attack than some (at best) ghosts of right-wind ideology baked into a movie.

Gotcha, if that indeed ends up being the case that they have mislead donators and never end up donating to a legitimate cause, then I think that's easy enough to condemn on its own merits.
