Just found a brown recluse right above me when I was in bed (ded fkn srs)

Turned off lights and got into bed. Then turned on phone flashlight light so I could find my phone charger plugin that’s next to my bed, that’s when I saw it.

Big a** spider right above me, sitting where the wall meets the ceiling. Tore apart me bed because I didn’t want him getting lost in my bedding. I have brown carpets too which sucks.

Anyways, got some paper towels and had to give him 2 good smacks before he died and fell. It’s crazy how resilient brown recluses are. The last one I tried to kill with RAID while it was alive and literally had to spray him for like 5 seconds, and even still, he was barely phased.

Now I’m sleeping on my couch because too scared to sleep in my bedroom, lol. Even though I’ve found one next to my couch last year.

Cliffs:
- OP getting ready for bed
- turned off lights but then used phone flashlight to find charger
- found huge spider right above me on the wall
- OP killed spider and was able to confirm it was a brown recluse
- OP a p*ss who is now sleeping on the couch for the night

It's possible you misidentified it. There's some other spiders that look a lot like the brown recluse. Over here, we've got these wolf spiders and dark fishing spiders that are gigantic, like the size of a 2$ coin.

Anyways, stay safe. Should have put it in a jar and taken photos for the misc. Woulda have repped you if you would have made it a little MISC hat.

Nah it was definitely a brown recluse as it had the violin and looks just like the pictures online. I took a video but too lazy to upload to youtube

Damn, that sucks. I read if they get trapped in your clothing and can really latch on, that’s when you run the risk of necrosis.

Also didn’t know for the longest time that you can get bit but have no real reaction.

Apparently they like to hide inside clothing (like shirt hanging in the closet) or inside shoes, lovely.

Going have to be careful putting on my shoes with no socks on now

Will definitely take your word for it, then. The violin pattern is usually a giveaway.

Natural remedy a naturopathic Dr. told me about:

Buy 4 oz of organic wheat grass, pressed, save the pulp with the liquid.

Add colloidal silver to this, and make a compress with it over infected area. Take the silver internally as well.

Take 1 gram vit C per hour with a glass of water.

Take 100mg of Zinc for a day or 2.

He also mentioned Maitake mushroom extract.

I did this and infection disappeared in 24 hours--the compress does the heavy lifting here imo.

This treatment is at least a thousand times cheaper than ending up in the hospital.

that would be frightening.

A lady I worked with was bitten by a brown recluse spider. Her and her husband were moving some wood to burn into the house when she was bit on the hand. She spent some time in the hospital due to the bite.

You could try leaving some lights on all the time. Brown recluses don't like light and led light bulbs only use a negligible amount of electricity anyway

Brown recluses are pretty gay. They won’t bite unless you startle them and give them no choice, such as not checking your slippers or reaching into a dark corner and it freaks out.

Also not everyone responds to their venom in the way they’re famous for. Many just get a semi painful mark, and it goes away after a while.

We have them in the house because we live by a wooded area, and it’s the Midwest. We also get common house spiders and some pha ggots that look like recluses, but are too big and don’t have the violin. The bigger guys eat the recluses so I leave them alone.

We keep a decent sized spider in the garage too that runs away when it sees us, but basically devours anything that wanders in. Spiders are pretty chill.

I got bit by a brown recluse 2 years ago, I STILL have the mark on my leg (bigger than the size of a quarter) to this day and will probably have it forever

It took 3 months to heal (srs), I have progress pics. Started out as a blister, then filled up with yellow chit, then started turning black and necrotic.




When I got bit I was on vacation with family and we rented an old cabin up north on the water. I crawled into the bed I was sleeping in and felt something but he must have scurried away quickly cause I never saw it.

Yes, spiders should be extinct. One of my friends thought it was hilarious cause I am scared of spiders.

All in all it didn't hurt, got some antibiotics from urgent care and it just took forever to heal. But the wound was grotesque looking.

Nothing more than a normal cut. Not saying there was zero pain but it wasn't anything as bad as it looked.

Pain wise when I had to scrape the yellow chit off was the worst part. Had to do that to clean the wound so it can heal. There was literally a hole in my leg but there's just a mark there now.
