Cliffs:

- did labs before and after

- labs after were better for HDL/LDL and the specific particle makeup

Caveat:

He was eating grass fed beef with mainly non starchy vegetables, a little potato and some avocado- not Five Guys + Fries.

Could be due to many other factors. He probably dropped weight on the process and thats why his labs improved. It would be an interesting experiment to make, if you are on a healthy diet like meat, avocado, potatoes, fruit, veggies etc but on a surplus, compare those labs to one month of being on a calorie deficit of eating twinkies and mcdonalds.

I think many people would be surprised.
"The flowers bloom, then wither... The stars shine and one day become extinct. This earth, the sun, the galaxies and even the big universe, someday will be destroyed. Compared with that, the human life is only a blink, just a little time. In that short time - people are born, laugh, cry, fight, are injured, feel joy, sadness, hate someone, love someone. All in just a moment. And then, are embraced by the eternal sleep called death."

That guy's a moron who's twenty years behind on the science. His ldl before was horrendous btw, and particle size is irrelevant if apo-b is high (which he didn't test for).

You’re a phucking moron

It’s sad that nutrition has become so political. Right winger have associated red meat with masculinity and will use every idiot’s anecdote to justify their diet

I know you have the attention span of a flee and your source of information is Twitter threads and YouTube shorts. Educate yourself a bit

Even Stan Efferding has shifted his stance on high sat fat red meat:
Not politically motivated. I've believed for a long time that red meat gets demonized based on self-reported diets [servings of red meat per day/week/etc.] which disregard the quality of the meat and any effects of the other foods which most often are eaten with red meat in the US [bread, condiments, cheese, french fries, soda]. I don't believe that saturated fat is the big baddie- I think it is an overabundance of omega 6 [including in grain fed beef], seed oils, and other inflammatory foods; not good quality red meat and plant foods.

There are RCTs which clearly show that saturated fat raises ldl and apo-b, both linked causally to CVD. The science is clear at this point, it's only youtube personalities battling it.

Gay vegan spotted, red meat and saturated fat in any amounts is totally fine, and can be very beneficial, assuming calories are controlled.

Hexane is bad mmmkay? Alan Aragon said that olive oil would be quite a bit superior to seed oils,

There are entire books written, and multi hour long lectures by PhD‘s, who show in greatest detail what specifically is wrong with seed oils, no one stopping you, continue to eat your garbage,

Color me highly skeptical on seed oils suddenly being okay given how many things I've come across re: heat treatment, chemical deoderizers, preservatives, acrylamide, omega 6 vs. omega 3 balance.

Not sure why you're so mad. True, I don't have paid employment ATM. I stream YT on tv because I prefer it to most other options and I scroll twitter, usually once a day.

Unaware. I don't follow nutrition that closely and I'm not super obsessive about what I do or don't eat. Life is too short.

I don't believe that red meat alone is somehow dangerous. Are some people more prone to high cholesterol? Yes.

Is heart disease caused by eating saturated fats [meat, butter, eggs, etc.]?

^^^
Beef consumption peaked in the 70s. Chicken consumption has surpassed beef and turkey consumption has also increased.

Butter consumption has decreased also.

Quite the opposite, they’re suddenly evil and the root cause of all health problems

It’s all good though, you’re too far gone in your bias. Low iq folks have this “cringe” reaction to information that challenges their bias, which is clearly what happens to the Joe Rogan crowd when confronted with data on seed oils

What data?

So far you haven't given any. Unless I missed it.

I wasn't looking to start a beef. Just making a thread because there have been very few the past day or so.

2 pounds of ground beef a day. Used grassfed organic which he calculated at 11% fat.

Lots of detail in the video, but it's dry and dull IMO.

Switched to a carnivore diet after years of bloat maxing while powerlifting and I've dropped 60 pounds and just had the best blood work panel of my life.

Me? No I'm not.

I may eat more chicken than beef and I don't buy organic produce either because it's too expensive.

But if you mean in general he said he bought his ground meat at Walmart and I think most people in the US have access to a Walmart.
