There is a trick to cold approaching that is as simple as can be.

1- Walk around and make eye contact with people. This is mandatory as women use this is a signal. Men not so much so we dont understand how important it is to women. If you are not currently making eye contact then just practice it when you are out. Not saying to stare like a weirdo at every girl. The trick is to tell yourself you are trying to look at what color their eyes are. It will be less scary to do that way. After a couple days you will do it all the time without thinking about it and actually enjoy doing it.

2- When you make eye contact they will act a certain way. They will break eye contact by looking down, This means they recognize you and not interested. Or they will break eye contact and look to the side which is sort of the same thing. When the make eye contact and smile, thats who you approach, Yours chances are vastly better with that person.

If you do this your chances are much better and you build confidence. getting shot down will happen of course but will happen less. This will build confidence.

Just randomly annoying people doesnt build confidence, it reinforces bad habits. Just like doing an exercise the wrong way all the time isnt as beneficial as it could be.
