It will make you reconsider your setup, how you select gears, etc. Made me realize why I like single speed so much; the lack of drivetrain resistance on a perfect chainline is HNNNNNNG, but I never realized that is what I'm feeling.SICK! Never been.

I love riding green trails. I can clear double black diamonds, rip down the waterfall at somo on my hardtail. But honestly, flowy greens make me so happy HNNNNNNG.Jesus christ. Although for 6 figs, I'd take a hit like that. lmao.

Absolutely wrecked my carbon rim wheels last weekend going down a steep climb. Never go carbon + rim brake.

Just upgraded to some HED alloy wheels. Hopefully I get them installed before the weekend. Weather is going to be A+, hope I can get a nice ride in Saturday morning.

Just ordered a BROMPTON boyos. I got sick and tired of renting bad bikes while on vacation for $50/day.... The BROMPTON can fold into a checked luggage size bag without extra airline fees. It also hides nicely in my car so some hoodlum won't break in to get it. Planning more road trips/europe trips in the coming few years, and am very FUKING RELIEVED to know I'll have wheels while I'm out being an NPC tourist.

Literally every vacation I've gone on in the last 5 years would have been better if I had a CONVENIENT bike with me. Bringing my big bikes is way too cumbersome.

I think I just fuked up my HOPE PRO4 rear hub when trying to remove the cassette (going back to single speed on it)

the freehub body won't rotate smoothly, kind of like a very tight friction. I've had the hub since 2017 and never serviced it, rode it HARD, so it might be toast anyways. Do you mail in the hub to HOPE for service? I highly doubt a local shop would be able to get it apart and order me the correct replacement internals.

I have a spare rear wheel laying around for now, I just need to adapt it for boost spacing and it'll be good to go.

If the freehub body is removable, just service it yourself. Disassemble it, lube it (pawls or teeth), and put it back together. It's like a 10 minute job.

Yes, for adventure camping and mountain biking.Quite stable. It does take some getting used to with strong cross winds, but nothing terrible.Noice. Used to participate in Tuesday Night Rides (TNR) in Tucson. Anywhere from 40-60+ people. Last Tuesday was underwear ride. LOL. I miss them, but there's always a few a-holes that ruin it by trying to play chicken with cars. Mostly to impress the ladies on the rides, but just ends up giving bikers a bad name, and stressing out the ride leaders. smh.

I went with a 1/4" rack based on reviews. It's surprisingly stable with a couple extra straps. Hate the time it takes to mount them though, so I'll be shopping again.

Race done. Was on 6hr Duo Team with my brother. He did 2 laps, I did 4. (each lap is 9.5 miles in, XC single track in the desert). We finished 4th



3 miles from the start, I crash. LOL! It was crazy loose, so dry. Clocked my crash going at 19.8mph. I don't mind the road rash, I'm just hoping I didn't break my other collarbone. It hurts. Still road the remaining 35 miles with injuries.

I just swapped my MTB back to SS again, and it feels so damn good. I have WAY more motivation to really give it juice when I'm out there riding single speed. HNNNGGGGGGYeah I've had two racks on the back of my car, both got crashed into by another vehicle almost immediately after I installed them.... So I gave up on the idea.

The motorcycle rack looks like a death trap. Maybe there's one where you can take the wheels off your MTB to reduce the height of the load? I dunno.LOL'd @ Godcel.

knee looks brutal. My knee looked almost exactly like that a few years ago. The swelling inside my knee joint was so bad that I actually couldn't walk much at all for about 10 days, and didn't ride for a solid 8 weeks or so. The wreck made me gun shy because it happened on a basic right hand turn, and had no reason to be such a horrendous injury for such a small wreck.

Yeah, first 3 laps was done on my singlespeed. The last lap, I used my brother's geared bike (Specialized Status 160 mullet).

During the race, made me wish I had a purebred XC bike. 90% of the other racers were all carbon XC bikes. LOL'd at my $700 aluminum ss compared to their $5k racing machines.Das it mane.

I increased my average speed to 25 kph (~15.5 mph). I'm pretty happy about this. I was at 20 kph just a month ago.

This brompton is the most fun thing I've bought as an adult man.

It is so maneuverable and low to the ground that you can just stand up and mash the pedals, zip around potholes/turns so fast it's INSANE.

"zippy" is the best way to describe it's riding dynamic. It's the first bike I've ever ridden with 16 inch wheels.

being able to take it inside places like the cafe or store is SO NICE with all the fentynal heads we have around phoenix.

The reason I bought this bike was for traveling, but I can see myself riding it around home a lot just because of how ridiculous it handles.

At a casual effort, I can average just over 15mph on routes that I would average 16-17 on my regular "road bike" with the same effort, so the speed is not as bad as I expected. I haven't even done anything to the gear ratios, just keeping it all stock for now.

If you ever wanted something basic, to just have around for traveling, or running around town to buy donuts, this thing is literally the perfect machine. It folds down into a 2 foot square, allowing you stuff it just about anywhere without even noticing it. When I go on small road trips, I will NEVER leave this thing at home. It's simply way too convenient to not bring with you everywhere you go.

I forgot to update as I’ve ridden the new whip. The megatower is slick AF. The geometry is miles ahead of what I had previous and the zeb/super deluxe suspension is awesome. I’m going much faster than my old 27.5 bike and it feels waaay more comfortable/less like my bike is about to fall apart in the chunky downhill spots.

It feels a lot longer than my previous bike and I obviously feel like I’m sitting much higher on it than previous but hopefully I get used to it. It’s also weird, but I feel like my front tire washes out waaaay easier than with the 27.5 tire bike I’m used to. I’m not sure why, perhaps I need to swap a front tire to something else.

It's a downhill machine, so you feel more stable thus giving you more confidence shredding downhill.

Turning you'll have to shift your weight a little forward to weight the front wheel, and maybe exaggerate your hips more. That's just a guess, never been on your bike.

Mountain bike technology is SO GOOD right now it's actually hard to believe. the durability of rims, tires, suspensions, cranks, etc etc etc.... Stuff has gotten bulletproof. It wasn't long ago that none of that was true, and you'd bend a crank just from landing too hard LOL. Now you couldn't bend a crank if you tried.Honestly, it's wayyyyy better than I expected. I'm not a very picky rider when it comes to my bikes, but this thing is just simply FUN to ride, and unusually quick. It can very easily handle longer rides - I took it about 25 miles the other day and felt like 50 miles would have been just fine on it if I wanted to.

The main problem with it is that they're using weird nuts & bolts on this bike that isn't a standard metric allen set.... It's like the company is stuck in the 90's with the parts they manufacture for the bike. I guess I'll get used to working on it, but I feel like I took a time machine when I see the hex bolts on there.

Yeah, any bike can do miles, I'd just rather have larger wheels. I ride a ss with 2.6 width rear and 2.35 width front knobby tires for miles and miles, so I shouldn't really talk about efficiency compared to a brompton. LOL

I like the brompton riding position, looks very relaxed for comfort, just not aero.
