Lots of debate on where middle age starts in this thread.

The average life expectancy pulls from the entire population. That includes people that do not take care of themselves. Fat. Drugs. Poverty. Etc.

For educated people with decent to excellent income, that make fitness and health a priority, like on this forum, I suspect the average life expectancy is at least age 85+.

Therefore, I would consider middle age to be 42.5 (85/2). For simplicity, I just say it starts at age 40. Could also aruge late 30s as obviously it has a range.
