-NAC before you start drinking or during the night
-800mg Ibuprofen with your last drink
-2 750mg Tums before you pass out
-32oz or more of water/2 scoops BCAA's/tsp of salt...chug before passing out.
-Fill water back up with more BCAA's & Salt...set 2 Goody's or Excedrin on the nightstand and consume when you wake up.
-Just get up and start moving....don't lay there and just drown in agony.

Aleve (always worked better for me, and breaks down very easily so much less stress on the liver), and as others have mentioned some kind of electrolyte supplement. For me usually a Nuun tab or two the night of before bed, and the morning after.

Having a big meal at the end of the night before bed.
I've done some heavy drinking, ate a large meal, went to bed, and woke up with barely a hangover.

just making sure you drink & eat enough before you sleep should hold you off on any extreme hangover

Considering you are normal / at baseline (not dehydrated before) drinking anything with salt before seems like a dumb thing to do.
Don't know why people are recommending this, will make you want water and then the alcohol is going to drain you.
Save the electrolytes for when you are deep.

Key is how drunk you are when you actually fall asleep. If you're blacking out shytfaced and on a completely empty stomach other than the booze calories youre gonna feel like ass the next day.
Try and sober up a bit before you hit the sack, even if it means staying up a little longer and pounding water/electrolytes and food and you should feel fine the next day.
People say your hangovers get worse as you age, but mine have honestly gotten better. I've had some seriously rough ones in my youth where I felt like I was gonna die, but these days I rarely get more than a mild headache and feeling a bit tired. I've gotten to learn what makes me feel terrible next day and I can usually avoid it.
