Made $75k in the stock market this year.

How is everyone else doing?
"One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. That day could be decades from now or it could be tomorrow. All I know is that's the day I'll wish I could lift more than ever. The day I'd give anything for one more workout, one more set, or one more cardio session. So go hard and enjoy every workout, every set, every rep. Because one day you will wake up and you will never get it back."

This might be the most retarded thing I've ever heard. Are you just adding up the inflation rate they report each month and thinking it's gone up 33% or something?

LMAO

Purchasing power of $1 in January is equally to $1.02 in June. That's a whopping 2% inflation.

I have to go all the way back to January 2015 to get 30% inflation

20% over the last 2 years which is obviously not great but no one has denied inflation has been higher recently.

https://www.in2013dollars.com/Food/p...-2023?amount=1

Still have to go back to 2015 to get in the 30%. Food isn't even that much higher though. Total CPI went up 17% the last two years if you use the first calculator I posted.

Most of you don't even sort of understand economics. LMAO at "durrrr inflation went up 33% the last few months". Misc has some of the lowest IQ people I've ever encountered dead fking serious. I see why you all have no money.

Portfolio went up 16% in the last 6 months and inflation is 20% the last 2 years. If I use your low IQ logic that means I'm on pace for 64% growth in 2 years vs. the 20% inflation.

Obviously it doesn't work like that but I thought I'd just put this in terms your low IQ brain might be able to comprehend since it's clear you want to flood my thread with total gibberish and fantastical numbers.

P.S.

Stay hard

It's actually up 12% YTD through today if you want an update

For what it's worth I expect the Fall and Winter to see it pull back before the end of the year.

Finance brahs, I need some advice.

Finally started my big boy job after years not making **** and in poverty (medicine). Now I'm making upwards of 600k/year as of last month. I have had no previous investments or savings other than an emergency fund (15k). I always pay my CC's off so no debt there.

Now I'm:
- Maxing out 401k with matching
- Plan for Roth IRA backdoor conversion (retro for 2023 in January of next year so I don't **** it up)
- Still living in modest apartment, no plans to change where I live or get into something fancier right now
- Still driving same car -- good gas mileage and works since I get paid for travel which comes back at almost +$1300 per month when I get reimbursed.

I have 230k student loan debt @ 5.7% average interest that is about to come online next month. I want to invest but not sure if I should nuke these ****ing loans down in the next year or pay them off somewhat slower (3-4 years?) and sink the rest of that into stocks.

All I do is work and wear scrubs all the time, and I am good about living within means because I'm used to living broke. I'm 33 so I feel like I'm late to the party, but at this income level I don't want to be complacent when I could potentially make a lot more if I do it correctly.
THIS IS SPARTA!!!!!!!!!

Sometimes when no one's home I enjoy separating m&m's into color groups and pretending they're little villages of people with their own economic and social problems, and then I try to fix them through free trade agreements and other diplomatic measures

RIP Aziz Sergeyevich Shavershian

Truly remarkable if you've been sacrificing up until you're 33 and have no desire to upgrade everything in your life now that you have good income

New nice house would be top of my priority list
