Dry wedding wtf?

So my brother-in-law is getting married next year and him and the fiance want to have a dry wedding on account of all the recovering alcoholics in her family, and to top if off it's going on a fookin boat.

So? Its not your wedding. Suck it up, be a good guest. And get wasted when you get home or back to ur hotel room.
Are you not entertained?

Don't go.

Bring flask if you're left with no other options... Guarantee all the alcoholics will do the same.

Lmao a dry wedding, just don't even bother. Take your ass to the court house and stop wasting everyone else's time.

yep **** that. besides the only way to tell if a person is actually recovering is if they can be around it but not drink it. pure slave morality to have a dry wedding because of a few addicts

So he's marrying someone whose entire family are recovering alcoholics?

Sounds like a lousy marriage to me.

My wife and I went to a dry wedding a few years ago. After the diner we left. Went straight to a bar to play some foosball and have a few drinks.

Our wedding was dry. Would have been dry anyway, but I don't think alcohol was allowed in the maneapa where we had the reception. Nobody noticed, they were too busy chowing down on the 4 whole pigs and mountain of other food.

Most of you are FA kissless virgins, but for those of us that have had a wedding, i can't blame them. People go to weddings and get completely fuked up and stupid. I gave out tickets at mine... everyone got 2 drinks then it was a cash bar. Booze is also ungodly expensive. Some people can't control themselves. Its smart to at least throttle or limit consumption. Just LMAO at alcoholcels that cant do anything without drinking.

I went open bar for mine. Granted I got married in a campground off the grid so my open bar was me buying a bunch of kegs, a bunch of booze and wine. On top of that I made some Red Eye moon shine.

LMAO at lame and boring weddings.

Check to see if the bathrooms have soap hand sanitizer dispensers. Or see if there is a kitchen area to prepare the food that might have vanilla extract in the cabinets. You also can't go wrong with chugging a bottle of mouthwash if there's any there. Get creative. No one should have to attend a wedding sober.

Weddings suck to be at regardless of booze being available at the venue or not. Getting drunk doesn't magically turn them from an super annoying way to blow a day off into a good time.

I also can't really blame them for wanting it to be a dry event, either. As others have mentioned already, a lot of people go full-retard with alcohol at weddings. People getting tanked, racking up insane bills, etc. I don't even want to think about what the tabs of weddings with open bars look like when it's all send and done. Imagine thinking it's a good idea to blow thousands upon thousands of dollars so people at your wedding can get stupidly drunk for one night and act like idiots at the reception. All for a marriage that stastically has maybe a 50/50 shot of lasting for the long haul lol.

Lol at being held captive by the alcohol industry and their backers that you cannot enjoy a wedding of a loved one without a drop of booze.

Big rabbit hole too (who started the alcohol industry, why prohibition failed etc)

It's pathetic now how Americans view booze. They now serve hard drinks at the zoo. Brb can't take my kids around to see animals they love without a drink.

Whole foods now has cocktails you can carry around while shopping. If you can't grocery shop without drinking you have a major problem.

Not to mention all the wine moms and wine o'clock crew. Totally irresponsible to be documenting on social media getting drunk on wine while your damn baby is under your watch.
