Grilled chicken breast on an open flame. Seasoned with Kinders Buttery Chicken and fresh ground pepper.
Topped with homemade Cilantro & Onions (w/lime)

2 small baked sweet taters topped w/ butter and cinnamon.

Can't be assed to read almost 200 responses, but I retired almost 2 years ago at 37. Originally found MMM through this forum back in 2014. Took us a little over 7 years to save enough to retire.

We live frugally.

We made a choice to not lifestyle inflate, with the tradeoff being that we don't have to work anymore. Is that a tradeoff everyone wants to make? Obviously not. But I didn't particularly enjoy working either, and now I don't. The biggest thing is I can't even imagine having to work again, it all sounds so terrible.

Lmao at calling out people for being plebs while mentioning Whoppers. Fast-foodcel detected. Probably spends hundreds a month at Tim Hortons, Subway, BK etc eating out every day for about $400 a month. COPE.

Congrats brother...we are retired people around the same age. And I'm right there with you about working sounding like the most terrible thing ever devised once you're retired. Be interesting to get your perspective once you have 10+ years in being retired.

I do have a slight fast food addiction. But I mean I grew up that way. Honestly though, at the point where I like eating healthier and wanting to cook more at home a lot more.

Fast food is not even worth it these days. You can eat at a decent restaurant for the same cost as like Taco Bell. LMAO it is completely absurd.

$18 gets you like a chalupa meal and a quesadilla at taco bell. That same $18 gets you an all you can eat salad bar lunch at Fogo De Chao. I guess it would be like $23 with tip. Why even eat at Taco Bell? Lmao.

Yeah you're completely right, but it's like once you have a taste for it you just kinda eat it...kinda like cigs for a person that wants to quit and gets nothing out it. for example, if it's 11:30 at night I either cook or get quick fast food. i'm doing better though...in fact tonight I'm going to cook something. and i guess i've never had a problem with being overweight so food has just always been this thing i didn't have guilt about eating as much or whatever i wanted. earlier today i ate at viva chicken...not sure if that counts as fast food but i didn't really like it.

That's true. Fast food is open late. If I have to eat fast food, I usually prefer Chick Fil A or Panera. Five Guys is good too. All are overpiced tho imo. I guess Jack's is ok, but I haven't had Jack's in years tbh. I used to like their spicy chicken sandwich.

We have a lot of pretty awesome local food.

If you want economical and tasty, just make a bunch of lasagna lol. That lasts a good 5 or 6 days in the fridge. Or I like making this quinoa black bean southwest salad with chicken.

Yup. I spent 23 bucks at McDonald's the other day and even in NYC that is a decent meal.
