People who masked up constantly and still got it twice, how did it happen? Especially since they took all the precautions.

Ah yes because my question was clearly are masks effective at stopping Covid if you just leave them in a box or used improperly. You're just trying to obsfuscate because of your own cognitive dissonance. You know studies have shown that certain masks are effective preventing covid infection yet you politically don't want to admit it. LMAO. Again it's just pure cope and projection.

There's no need to answer your parameters retard because my question wasn't are masks effective only when certain parameters are met, it was implying are masks EVER effective. You KNOW they are but your own feelings are causing immense dissonance in your smooth little brain so instead of answering you're obsfucating. Cope and projection LMAO

About a 20-25% reduction in adjusted odds ratio with masks.

Moreso the opposite - I don't think people who were sceptical of masks would claim that it wouldn't stop absolutely anything, more that they weren't a 100%, infection-free guarantee.

On the other hand, if you didn't wear one it wasn't uncommon to get REEEE'd at in stores as seen in countless videos posted online, all of which stemmed from a belief of them being much more effective than 20-25%. And yet, as it turns out, that's all it was; still a significant number, but nowherenearthe level of protection that was implied and widely believed to be the case.

Just chiming in to mention that I think that one reason liberals love making so much is that masking prevents you from spreading it much more than it does you getting it, which is a cornerstone of liberalism where you sacrifice for the common good. Liberals would love a society that people help one another. The belief that those who can contribute, contribute more so those who won't contribute can have more. Healthy people who aren't at risk of the virus have to damage their health to try to protect unhealthy individuals who are at a high risk. Maybe the unhealthy can take steps to be more healthy?

I mean yea. Isn't that how society should work? The strong should protect the weak. The rich should help the poor. The smart should guide the dumb. We are a society. Of course the unhealthy should try to be healthier, but the reality is they are unhealthy and need our help. I find it mindblowing that Christians are against this idea. Jesus Christ would have been the biggest socialist of all.

Were the questions answered via an online survey??

If so, how do you think they confirmed the people were honest and accurate in their responses?

Do you think people were dishonest? What would be the motivation or indicators of fake data?

Do you think all of the other work demonstrating the same effect is also invalid?

Out of 60k+ responses yes, it is very likely at least some were dishonest. Also, it is very subjective. Perhaps the person responding feels they’re very hygienic but they aren’t, or vice versa. And the responses could change based on how they feel at the time of questioning. Point being, if they can’t even validate that the responses are accurate then it’s trash as far as being used in a “scientific study”.

What effect is that? Do I think masks provide meaningful protection?? I don’t think the ones that the vast majority of people wore did much of anything. Sure they caught large droplets, but those would’ve quickly fell to the ground anyway and not been much of a risk to others. The smaller particles pass easily through the mask and can travel to others perfectly fine.

But I get it, you want to promote masks and injections. Weird flex but ok.

While survey research has limitations, I think it's a stretch to say any and all research using data collected by surveys is invalid or trash by default.

But, I don't think use of regression is a flaw either.

The effect of community masking reducing the odds of infection and/or transmission.

Okay.

Mask use is typically over reported by self report, which suggests the effects shown in this study are even larger.
