There are no more twenty somethings coming in to get swole and have a good time. Just a bunch of older guys who already made those threads years ago, and are either family men now, just relaxing having partied themselves out, or clinically depressed.

It was the youth that kept this place fresh. Excitement, new memes, crazy stories, college life insanity, sloots slootin' (IRL, not tiktik vids).

And of course it isn't just misc. Old school forums are just dying out. It's all about tiktok, instagram, and twitter. Nobody just wants to hang around and bs online anymore.

I know, this is the millionth misc is dead post on here, but it honestly is. When half the threads left on the front page are the same mentally ill trolls regurgitating the same points over and over, you know it's a wrap.

Incel this, racism that, politics this. Barely anything about lifting. Nobody bragging about their physique/lifts, and the few that do get a bunch of non lifting fuks coming in to hate. Used to be the non lifters were the ones getting ridiculed.

I don't know where I'm going with this. I doubt I'll ever truly leave, but there's hardly a reason to come back anymore. I think most of the great posters her feel the same. Guess I'm just feeling nostalgic today.

Googling the name of an exercise is how I found this site. Sometimes it would be in the more serious sections, but every now and then it would lead to this odd little space called misc.They're just posting fire emojis on their favorite "influencer"

Were you here before 2018? I always wonder that about people who joined around when you did or later, as the misc was already dying back then. You should have seen it about 10 years before that, back when social media wasn't really a thing yet.

I was a lurker in 2010. The speed back then was insane. In on first page was an accomplishment.

I may not have been around here in the golden age, but even 2018 misc was better than 2023 misc (that's all I have for comparison).

I can't remember when I first found the misc but it would have to have been after 2007 when I got my own computer. I'd say 2010 - 2011 from then on I'd stop by and read threads every now and then. Wished I'd signed up years earlier than when I did looking back on it now.
