Statistic state:
"83 percent
The second national report " The Happiness Index: Love and Relationships in America," commissioned by eharmony and conducted by Harris Interactive, shows that 83 percent of Americans are "happy" in their romantic relationships with a partner or spouse. Only one in nine people in a relationship are extremely or fairly unhappy"
This has to be a joke. 83 percent? Maybe in another country because
"In the United States, between 35%-50% of first-time marriages end in divorce, increasing to approximately 60% for second marriages and 70+% for marriages after the second. This gives the US one of the highest divorce rates in the world"

Oh I dunno, it depends on how one defines happiness. I'd guess some people are or could be happy being in a loveless marriage where they stay out of each other's way, where the wife doesn't have sex and the man gets to jerk off to porn and pay the bills. A hollow relationship that although not ideal, could be a lot worse, is probably enough for some people to be content. This is all speculation and educated guesses based off what I've heard from other people's relationships, by the way.

Not all relationships are perfect, but most people are happier being with a person than alone. Human beings are social creatures and they inherently desire a connection with someone from the opposite sex, so yeah, i think that number is accurate.
Anybody that thinks a relationship should be 100% unconditional love, sex all the time, 100% trust, happiness at high levels at all times without ever going trough "Meh" or tough times is delusional and doomed to be permanently single or looking for something better. Most humans are normal and understand that its just better being with somebody than being alone.
