There used to be reciprocity in abundance. You put time and energy into participating and walked away with more than you put in, because there were a group of guys doing the same and, even when agreeing to disagree, there was enough decorum that transactions were a net positive.

There are a lot of vampires here now. You put in and they take and give animosity in return. They walk away feeling better but it's at someone else's expense.

I happened to look at the front page today, but outside of the Titan submersible thread I haven't participated in a couple months. I had to take seriously that the misc had become the most reliable source of toxicity in my day to day experience.
