US citizens will need a Visa to go to EU in 2024
https://nypost.com/2023/07/25/us-cit...urope-in-2024/
Beginning in 2024, the European Union will require visitors to get pre-approval via the European Travel Information and Authorisation System — and that goes for summer jet-setters from the US.
Before securing tickets, lodging, or a reservation at that trendy hotspot you saw on TikTok, vacationers will need to submit an ETIAS application for approximately $8.
Applicants will need to provide travel documentation, such as a passport, as well as personal information, education level, current occupation, anticipated trip details, and any criminal convictions.
“With a valid ETIAS travel authorization, you can enter the territory of these European countries as often as you want for short-term stays — normally for up to 90 days in any 180-day period,” the EU’s website reads.
“However, it does not guarantee entry. When you arrive, a border guard will ask to see your passport and other documents and verify that you meet the entry conditions.”
Thoughts? The bolded part bugs me the most. They sure are asking for a lot of personal details just to go to EU....feels sus.

Sounds awfully restrictive. Something we've had our hands slapped for as Americans in the past.

One of things about AMERICA and Americans is that people flock here for convenience. If it ain't available easily people will bounce. That is partially why the US is the greatest nation on Earth.
Of course the rich/instathots will still go but for many...they'll NOPE.
another thing is the "paris effect" whereby people go to the EU and think its gonna be like "its a small world" ride at Disney when in fact its muslims as far as the eye can see ...again unless you go to the $$$ exclusive areas.

that said...if you wanna go, go now before the muslim population is even greater than it is and becomes the clear visible majority.

It is likely more a tit for tat approach. We make EU citizens get visas, they are making us.
It is similar with drivers licenses. The states that allow EU countries to exchange also get to exchange in the EU.

We do it too, but not to most of Europe and the Anglosphere. Maybe that will change now? This doesn't look like a step in the right direction though.
Current status:

We had visa free entry into Europe prior to this. I mean we still do, but apparently not for long.

My only point was that we(USA) just bought tickets and provided a passport with nothing else.
This new list of EU countries will provide quite a large pot of cash with millions of travelers from the USA yearly.
Austria
Belgium
Bulgaria
Croatia
Cyprus
Czech Republic
Denmark
Estonia
Finland
France
Germany
Greece
Hungary
Iceland
Italy
Latvia
Liechtenstein
Lithuania
Luxembourg
Malta
Netherlands
Norway
Poland
Portugal
Romania
Slovakia
Slovenia
Spain
Sweden
Switzerland
