A shame some of you didn't like it. The movie was incredible, RDJ and Cillian Murphy were great. I wrote a paper on Oppenheimer so this had my interest from the get go, the pacing was perfect and those saying they couldn't understand what they were saying like what??... LOL Einstein was the one a little hard to understand but it wasn't impossible to make out what he said.

And I fail to see how this was a "propaganda" It was a Biopic on the man who had the weight of the world on his shoulders because if he didn't build the bomb or if he flat out refused? He knew the Nazi's or the Soviets would and it would've been Hiroshima but in LA or NY

If y'all wanted an action movie maybe Mission Impossible was the way because when did this movie ever get promoted as an action packed movie?

What the fuk did you expect you moron? And you know the story? Obviously they weren't gonna show Hiroshima and Nagasaki so yes you only get 1 nuke scene. Doesnt mean the rest of the movie was bad. Movie was great. Stupid people don't get it

That said I wish they would have shown bombing the fik outta Japan but I understand why they didn't include it

Can you explain why it was good, and with a better explanation other than you're too stupid to understand?

The timelines kept changing and it's almost centred around a trial of oppenheimer post world war.

Would rather of watched barbie.
Totally know the feeling brah.

I saw it with my older sister, who we generally every few years see an incredible movie together it helps keep us close etc.

She was soooo mad I dragged to her to see this for 3 hours. We were ranting about how delusional Nolan is the whole ride home

I didn't want or need action. I needed a strong story that was compelling with speaking not muffled over and not 75 straight rapid fire 1 minute cut scenes of talking. Nolan needed to slow the f down in this film and let the story develop

You really think the pacing was that off for a 3 hour movie? Boy you're the first person to say it was "rushed" the RDJ scenes were great dialogue the testing scenes and dialogue? There was a ton of great scenes of it not being "muffled" more curious what part of the movie was "muffled"

And also I researched Oppenheimer extensively for a paper I wrote and he hit the nail on the head in almost every aspect, the blood on his hands that he felt he had. The conversation he had with Truman again another on point fact.

Cant please them all but I am more curious what Bio-pic did you see that you liked and was this well done.

There's been a consensus from a lot of people he tried to fit in too much dialog. It was too much man. Not just me.

Imagine hating a film that received an 8.8 on IMDb and 95% of google reviewers liked. How out of touch with reality are you guys?

8.8 on IMDb put it in the top 15 movies. I think that's generous though. It'll probably level off around 8.5

This is what's confusing me. IMDB is my go-to website for movie ratings because my movie preferenc usually matches the masses. If it has an 8 on IMDB, I'm going to love it. Yet, the 8.8 on IMDB doesn't match up with my experience and literally every person who I've spoken to at the office who saw it personally. We all thought it was a big let down. Dunno what's up. Are the IMDB ratings not matching reality on this one somehow, or have I suddenly lost touch with reality for no reason, with regard to only this one specific movie.

Was actually going to go see this on 75 mm as that's what they are saying to see it in.

But if most of this is dialogue and courtroom, WTF does it matter??????

Other than the bomb scene, there was nothing visually spectacular or unique in this movie that big film size is going to help.

What specifically didn't you like about it?

After watching his other "war" movie Dunkirk, I'd think people would know it's not going to be a blood bath type of movie.

It was directed with quick scene cuts and a ton of dialogue, with character development, just like every other movie he's made. So I guess I'm confused unless this is one of those things to hate just because it's popular.

I also think an IMDB rating is usually exactly what i think about movies afterwards. It's most of the times my go to to look for new movies.
That being said i'm sure Disney, Marvel and Lucasfilms are rigged and get way too high ratings for their crap movies.

There is the occasional high rated movie i hate, but not alot (the black phone for example, it's total crap but gets mild reviews).

I'm still curious about Oppenheimer. I liked inception and Interstellar but i didn't like the Batman movies. Thought the Batman movies were poorly choreographed in terms of fighting sequences and there are some completely annoying actors with mediocre performances. Nolan hires alot of the same extras in his movies and they annoy the FUK out of me.

Most people ITT seem to complain because they were expecting some sort of war movie based on the fighting or "the bomb" itself. The movie is called Oppenheimer. It was about him. So for the people saying it should have showed the bomb evaporating the Japanese are missing the mark.

Most of you just wanted to watch an action film.

The rare occasion a director puts time into unique storytelling and you guys chit all over it. Thats why you'll continue to get 50 superhero and "girl-boss" films every year because you allow films like this to flop.

Hard disagree. Not sure what you mean about muffled audio, maybe the theater you went to didn’t have proper audio? No speaking scenes (most of the movie) were difficult to make out at all.

They only had 3 hours and they were centering the entire story around Oppenheimer, of course every single minute was spent with his personal interactions and experiences so they couldn’t include all of the history facts around it. They squeezed years of this dudes life into 180 mins.

I think you’re just upset from the audio issues you had and you’re making bad claims such as the scenes in court being shot wrong. The entire third act was talking, but it was well written and everyone delivered their lines perfectly. The climax of the movie was a great way to warp it up and put a bow on it.

Also glad to see misc tinfoil crew is already bitching about propaganda. This place has as much negative energy as old school \b did.

Good way to put it. The ending the last line was honestly the perfect ending imo and Emily Blunt played his wife perfectly. And I'm not even a Nolan Dik rider but the casting for all the important characters were honestly perfect

Even Matt Damon killed it, the testing scene felt very on edge because they all truly had no idea if it would work on a larger scale

Easily 80% of people saying it sucked, was totally underwhelming etc.

Talked to several people in real life that saw it everyone was pretty in agreement it didn't live up to hype at all.
For topics that I'm an expert on and search Reddit, often times the posters are full of BS. I rarely take information from Reddit seriously. And who is to say Reddit isn't as compromised as IMDb. IMDb has always been the most accurate rating system I've ever used. I've been a member there for 20 years.

It's rare if my rating is off by more than one point with IMDb.
